Very low 5 second 0-60 runs are pretty fast. I got high 5 second blasts in my 2008 Porsche 997 and 2010 Camaro SS. Both cars were six speed manuals and hard to launch due to lack of traction. Given the stock 300hp and 300tq and weight of the 335's, these cars perform very well. I will saw that they don't feel as fast, but a quick check of the speedo proves me wrong every time

Bumpin' old threads FTW!!!
So i just did a little test and this is what I got. I think I can work on my 60' quite a bit. Maybe brake torque a little higher. 335xi sedan has DCI, Cobb v2.02StandardThrottleMapping, DP's, FMIC, and Charge pipe. I'm going to test a little bit more. 'test track' does have a slight upward angle so times may be better with a true level 'test track'. What times do you think this may equate to in the 1/4. Going to the track in a bit so practicing my launch. |

^Thanks, I was really happy I was able to hit those back to back and have them be that close. Bring on stage 2 maps. i'd like to see if it makes any difference in the 0-60.

Oh and stall is near 2500rpms. I would try brake torquing to that rpm too. |

I recently went to the track to see how acurate the accessport was and it seems it was very close. If you want pics I have updated my photos with the cobb logs and track timeslip. These numbers were before my upgraded suspension. Everything was stock except stage 1 93 octane accessport map.

Just remembered this old thread, here is a video of me doing 0-60 runs this morning, I had race gas and my seats out but my 1/4 track was jacked so I figured I'd have fun using up the fuel.

I can do into the 3.8 range probably... like someone already said, depends on how much you want to beat the hell out of the tranmission.
I have JB4 15 ohm, Mr5 intake, and meth/water injection. 2 CM3 nozzles (one into each intake, prefilter) and a CM10 going into the charge pipe. No weight reduction, crap 91 octane, 80/20 meth mix, meth adder on JB4 was set to 40, putting target boost to 17.5 psi. I took an awful quality video on my phone starting in second gear, brake boosting to 6psi and letting go. Sent it to my friend and he did a frame by frame and it came out to be 3.933 0-60. With a healthy car, octane booster / race gas, and a bit more of an aggressive brake boost... I predict 3.8s to be pretty realistic. My plugs are extremely old, my oil is bad, my transmission needs to be worked on, and will be doing some other maintenance things within the next month or two. Will take to drag sometime around February/March. I am losing boost somewhere and need to find out where before I go hard. UR DPs and the CX Racing FMIC may go on too by March... which everything considered... and I don't f*** my car up first having too much fun, 3.7X maybe? We'll see |

do you find you get better 60' & ET's while launching in 2nd gear as opposed to first?

No, 60' is always better from a 1st gear launch that doesn't hit the rev limiter. But the shift from 1st to 2nd kills that advantage in the overall 1/8 and 1/4 mile ET by .15 or so.

JB3 2.0 Map 7 with FBO (FMIC, catless DP, catless exhaust, DCI and 96 octane)
60': 1.74 1/4: 12.403 Trap: 111mph Cobb stage2+ aggressive with same FBO and 93 octane (street tested only on a slight INCLINE) ---> unofficial 60': 1.9 0-60mph: 4.0 seconds I haven't been able to go to the track for the passed two years, but I'm damn sure I can make better times with the Cobb than the older JB3. With a proper straight it should be relatively easy to hit high three seconds for 0 - 60mph times. As for the quarter mile? Low 12's with proper driving.
