Sonax most likely won't do the trick if you have heavily soiled BMW wheels..you're probably gonna have to step it up to strong acids like Meg's WB or clay.

I have the same exact problem as you, the stubborn little black etched spots that are impossible to remove. I was thinking of giving this stuff a shot, kind of similar to the Sonax product I think.
