Catch can won't do anything for you during idle, part throttle or vacuum conditions (when the turbo isn't spooling.) There's a reason the stock system is recirculated aside from emissions.

Sorry you still haven't given reasons why no vaccuum there is a fail ... Just trying to understand...

I'm not trying to be a dick but do you understand what vacuum means? The suction from the vacuum nipple on the intake SUCKS the vapors out of the crank case.

Didn't know I had to hold your hand through the process

he's talking about venting to atmosphere compared to recirculating with OCC or stock. i have these concerns also, but older motors don't use vacuum. I think it's more of a byproduct of recirculation for clean air.

Lol I think I know that much, you're funny

There's really VERY little vacuum from the intake side there, and there's WAY more "stuff" that gets blown out of the crankcase side under boost...when my car was on a dyno last time I had just a 6" pipe off the crankcase side sitting there and you'd been surprised how MUCH air with a bit of oil vapour it vented...

I think even if there was enough vacuum there to suck vapors out of the crankcase, I wouldn't want them in the intake tubes going down to the hot turbos, fmic, piping and into the engine...

There's more harm done by letting the oils come in than not...I don't need hand holding just a good explanation why this is "FAIL"...please don't explain what boost or crankcase are either, think I've got that covered too lol

Crankcase pressure can also open the PCV.

Absolutely, and that's where it really counts...vacuum sucks very little in comparison, if anything, which is why if you don't drive your car under high boost too often your OCC will have little to no oil in it..

If the recirc would attach behind the throttle body, you'd be correct, but at idle there is little vacuum in front of the TB

When you are above atmospheric pressure (running boost) there wouldnt be vacuum to open the PCV ayway. Correct?

Right. Crankcase pressure opens it (blows on the check valve) instead of intake vacuum sucking it open..

The only thing I dont like about just using a tube and dumping everything out is that you cant tell how much blow by has come out.

Why would you even need to know? Honestly I have to say, I'm not sure this is THE best thing to do but so far I can't foresee and haven't experienced any issues...if anyone knows of a good reason not to do it like this I'd love to know and discuss..PCV piping is there going into the intake only for emissions really and venting to atmo is illegal...

Just to see if it is working better than a typical OCC. Dumping everything out seems like it would be the best option.

I'm not sure at this point if my PCV valve is still in place with this latest change...I have to see where the actual check valve sits...anyone know? Someone else installed my occ for me back 3 years ago which I've recently taken out but I don't know if one of the pieces taken off with the PCV piping had the check valve in it or if the valve is more internal on the crankcase side...

Anyone know?

I believe the cyclonic separator, including the PCV valve, is an integral part of the intake manifold.

Think that's what I read as well about the cyclonic separator (really just a bunch of tunnels inside the intake manifold, and btw might be the reason why we dong have an aftermarket intake manifold still) but not sure on the check valve

I wouldn't recommend that, because the engine will be sucking in unfiltered air through your hose all the time except during acceleration.

A filter at the end of your hose would be the solution.

See above, there's a check valve inside the PCV system to prevent backflow to the crankcase.

that said, i'd still put a filter on it lol.
