ooooooooh, the ECU is built into the actual heated wheel itself?
that's actually pretty cool of bmw to do

....shoot, i'll have to find those parts and get retrofitting
i'm not sure where i'll take the 12v from though, i make use of the 12v lighter socket below the radio

based off the guide, it shows two wires not used for the clockspring if you have a manual or no paddles. So maybe we can use the regular clockspring, and send power through those two terminals for the heated wheel itself. then connect the other end to the switch and to power from there etc.

it would need to be a 12v source off of the ignition, NOT the accessory mode. you dont want this kind of amperage draw in accessory mode

So wire it into ignition once connected to the switch.

How do you check if steering wheels on ebay have heating feature? Usually it is not noted in description...

wait wait wait
where does it normally clip, exactly?
i've been looking all over for a means to determine if a SPORT steering wheel is heated or not, i know the heating ECU is visible here on the non-sport steering wheel

Mine didn't have paddle shifters, so I canceled it. Do any of the heated steering wheels come with paddle shifters?

You can but from some quick googles it seems like you can only do it on select wheels, heated not being one of them. But there are heated sports steering wheels. Mine just wan't one of them.

Idk take this with a box of salt.

If someone can show that paddle shifters can be added to a steering wheel which does not have cut outs for them I'll take the plunge and try this out.
