Yes, I can send the ECU straight to GIAC but that leaves me without my car for days and on top of that I have to pay for shipping.
I am beginning to look at Cobb too. I just spent $360 on shipping plus $125 on labor to get my ECU reflashed with GIAC S2 at EAS and GIAC headquarters and I'm not even sure if it can be done anymore (more on this to follow in a few days).

The problem is, no one can guarantee that Cobb's AccessPort can read/write over any BMW software version.

Hello Cobb,

Question, I'm going full bolt ons, FMIC, Stett CAI, AR Catless dp's, Stett chargepipe forged DV's, AR OCC, Eisenmann Race exhaust. Only thing left is a tune.

Since i'm going with Catless DP,s does the AP have a feature where it suppresses the SES light since there aren't any cats in the dps?

What power levels should I anticipate with the AP paired with the above supporting mods.

Thanks!

Hmm thats strange, i went and got the update, then went to the shop and paid the normal $200, got the giac stg 2 flash and away I go. Whats different with your car?

I think stg 2 for the cobb is a bit away, I'm going to make sure all the bugs are out if and when i decide to try it.

edit: I see your in europe...i'm guessing that may have something to do with it.

Exciting time! Can't wait! Just last night I thought I was gonna give up waiting. There is light at the end of the 07 tunnel.
Too bad I'm not in Texas.

Same here. I was going to give up at the end of March. Now the waiting until it's generally available is going to drive me nuts. At least we have an update, though!

I'd LOVE to be a beta-tester for you, but... that doesn't eliminate my drive from KS to TX. I'm hoping you get that testing done soon so I can order up the finished product! (Before I make the drive to OK for a GIAC flash.)

i LOVE my JB4 and have been really interested in the Cobb.

i'm thinking long and hard about a possible trade mainly due to the fact that i didn't think the Cobb was going to knock.

apparently Cobb still knocks even with Stage 1 due to it's agressive nature.

JB4 also knocks, so now i'm stuck wondering what to do.

at this point, the Protune would alleviate that main concern of mine, but buds just verified that no one has gotten an N54 protuned

the wait continues.......

The install should be around 20-22 mins. Map changes are around 60-80 seconds once installed.

The 2007s will used the same mapping as the 2008+ N54s and be available right away. Currently the only change is in how we talk to the car.

Cheers,
Rob

You can buy the AP now as the support will be added via an update to the AP.
