Yes but Federal law says they can not deny you warranty just because they think you did anything to the car, as a matter of fact even with the mod installed they need to prove that the upgrade or alteration caused the damage.

They do not have to prove anything if it is not factory specifications and the fact that it is printed in the owners manual about modification can void the warranty gives them all the power they need to deny coverage. Modification is different than repairing or maintainence to OEM spec.

ALso they can not void your warranty for FMIC since the car comes with one and it makes the car more efficient and can never ruin the car.

Tell them its a glitch and that the car is wrong.

If I was going in for turbo problems the last thing I would do is leave any evidence of modifications. Just saying.
+1 remove EVERY mod... I even remove wheel spacers because I don't want any bs over suspension.

My SA told me they can't deny you service if you have aftermarket parts. If something fails on your car they have to prove that the aftermarket part caused the issue. They can't just say your warranty is voided.

All it takes is basic science to link a damaged part to an alteration.

Blown speaker with DP? Little chance of claim deny (unless the owner really needs to crank up the volume to hear over the exhaust)

Wastegate issues with DP? Higher chance of claim deny - the DP's change the flow characteristics of the turbo. Whether better or worse, DP's modify the operating conditions of the turbo and powertrain outside of OE validated parameters.

Like a broken record, you gotta pay to play. Working in the auto industry for almost 9 years, validation costs a lot of time and money - just for stock configurations. If all vehicles validated for potential aftermarket parts, the cars would cost a fortune.

And on top of that most of these parts are not DOT or CARB approved.
