Coming from about a dozen different turbo cars and a 430whp/410wtq LS1 powered RX7, it seems the magical number for me is about 6.7lbs/whp.
All it really takes is getting your license suspended from speeding tickets to come to this number .... anything more than this (on a daily driver/street car) is gonna blow a good street tire off in 1st and 2nd gear, possibly 3rd. Sure an 800whp car is more fun on a highway roll but most cars are well beyond "speeding" at the top of 3rd gear, WOT.... like 80+mph. I'm not saying don't ever go more than 80mph, just that the consequences for "enjoying" your 800whp car are far greater than one that can actually USE the power in legal ways. FWIW, 6.7lbs/whp on a 3600lb car is about 550whp... maybe a bit generous for an E9x. I'd probably drop that to 400-450whp for a RWD E9x simply based on traction. |

Id like to max out the potential on the stock turbos, enjoy that until the car starts feeling slow again, and then sell the car...so I guess about 500-550. Really miss driving an awd car, would love to get back into an evo9 but coming from the bimmer I dont know if I'd be able to do it...don't know what I'm going to get after this one and I just bought it a month and a half ago haha.
ps: I check autotrader everyday looking for mkiv supras that are mint. I would sell my car and get a supra instantly.

Its never enough. Even 700whp and 750wtq gets "normal".
I've been getting back into riding dirt bikes, and the first day or two, my new Rotax 260 powered ATK was scary fast... for like 2 days LOL. Now pulling up wheelies in 3rd sans clutch is already leaving me wanting more. |

About 800 hp would be fine. This is enough power run even or outrun sportbikes. Anything less is a bit of a compromise but 400+ whp is OK for DD in a 335 at lower speeds. With less than or about 350 whp the driving becomes rather boring and it is necessary to go WOT almost all the time to check that there is nothing wrong, which it is with 350 whp
I guess the 335 will be OK already with a solid 450 whp on the tap, but more is of course better and definitely needed for neck-snapping acceleration at higher speeds. |

In my 335i, about 450hp would be great. It is my DD. In my project car, I'm shooting for 550hp on DD settings and 700hp on track day settings.

Made 495/530 was the Daily. Feels great once you get there but it gets bored really fast
Aiming for 700 daily and alittle over 1000 for the 1/4 But then again it's way to easy to make power in a 2j |

Its never enough. My Cobra makes 765rwhp on pump gas through an Automatic, which is roughly 900-950rwhp if it had a stick. The car still feels slow to me driving it on the street. It does however put ass whoopins on Busas
