Remember when we were 17? Did we really listen to other people? Op do whatever makes you happy. If this is the car for you and u have the money for it then go for it.. Shit when I was 17 i wanted a 94 supra or a 94 rx-7.. They were 40g's back then and that was alot of money for me..so I settled for a 92 hatch dropped a b16 in it and had a shit load of fun driving it.. Spent maybe 10,000 on everything and had no regrets..at your age tuner cars are so much more fun to drive..once u own a BMW there's no such thing as street parking. You'll have to park it in a garage or far away in a parking lot.. There's to owning a car like this, so be ready to make some real mature decisions..

Lol I won't take offense from Wilson because it was indirect. And he can't say I was "flaunting my salary" because I wasn't bragging, I was comparing REALISTICALLY what I can afford and NOT afford. And I have never once complained about being broke.
But since e92stance, u want to compliment my wheels one day and act cool with me on all my posts and now turn around and think you know who the fuck I am or what kind of bills I fuckin have, how bout you just shut the fuck up because you don't know shit ok??? I make $20+ an hour (won't say exactly due to e90 butt-hurt people thinking I'm "flaunting"). I do commercial building maintenance for Vornado Realty Trust. It's a Union job. I work 60 hours a week EVERY WEEK, plus I work 13 holidays a year that are DOUBLE-TIME AND A HALF, and work on weekends in the snow and 15 hour days in a blizzard, so I have PLENTY overtime on every paycheck. I'm not gonna sit here and break down what my bills are but I have PLENTY. I did try to sell my rims because my girls MOM didn't put up the money she was going to for her wedding dress so we were short. Why were we short? Because in 10 months I've spent $14,000 on her engagement ring, and nearly $20k on an all expense all inclusive wedding at a 5 star resort in Punta Cana Dominican Republic, ON TOP of paying all my bills and going out spending money on miscellaneous things to keep myself sane. So next time keep ya shit to yourself because I have nobody to impress on here and everybody that knows me knows I don't ever flaunt shit. So go fuck yourself and the mods can ban me for all I give a fuck because u don't know me ******

I have driven plenty of cars w over 100K miles..hell my daily driver is an eclipse with 166K miles and its going strong..the only difference is that car is easy and cheap to fix..when you r crying at the dealer or at the parts counter b/c your having to replace parts or the car is sitting in frnt of your house b/c you cant afford to fix it..the one thing you cant say is you havent been told |

This forum is full of "girls" who are afraid to touch their car. I learned how to change a water pump @ 17 and most of the problems you guys complain about like spark plugs can be changed in your driveway/ garage. If you guys sit down and really look @ a job and diy it will cost you less than half. Next time you guys wanna spend all that money PM me I could use the extra money since you guys like overpaying for stuff

You were in a Chevy Cav and a Suzuki Aeiro prior to this, cars that I know for a fact, insurance is low on. But you're still in the 16-21 bracket, and insurance on a 335 is not going to be cheap, especially if you've gotten in an accident before (I don't know if you have...I'm just saying). OK, well it's really cool that you've gotten to drive some sweet cars, but do you own them? Nope. The E46s aren't turbo'd (but, the Audi may have been, so I'll give you that one). BMW's are notorious for maintenance costs, especially as the mileage goes up. I can do most small things myself, but there are times when going to the BMW dealership will be unavoidable...like, when your HPFP and/or turbo's go. Now, you're young, and clearly not listening to any of us. But let me just provide you with one quick little financial lesson: Adjustable rate mortgages sold like hotcakes in the 2000s, as American families wanted to move in to bigger and more expensive homes, without a proportional increase in salaries. When lenders told them they could live in a multimillion-dollar house without a salary to support that, they totally didn't listen to logic and reason (or were fiscally uneducated) and took out an adjustable-rate mortgage. After their introductory period was over and their interest rates went up, they were unable to keep up their mortgage payments, and lost everything. What you're doing is not listening to logic and reason, and buying in to this potentially-toxic asset. When those repair bills, insurance costs, oh and PREMIUM gas bills (that I imagine are going to be high due to the nature of city driving, and more so because it's New York!) pile up, you're going to realize you made a huge mistake. If you really, really want a high-performance BMW, look at this: http://autos.yahoo.com/used-cars/bmw...mw&distance=30 It's been worked on, it's in Brooklyn, and it's got about half the miles. Or better yet, get a 330 E46 coupe. |

![]() i'm more than likely gonna get some $hit for this but why not get a 328? its a decent look and is reliable... granted i would have purchased a 335 myself if at the time i had the extra cash to put down, but it was my first bmw so it was pretty fast for me already...i dont take it to the meets in glen cove cause 1) i live literally 1 block away and 2) its not a 335 lol... either way a 335 is over your budget...good luck op. |

I got my 335 when I worked at the dealer 4 years ago. Just making a car payment on shitty tech pay was hard enough, and it was pretty cheap by todays standards.
I do maintain a lot of these for a living, and they do have their ups and downs, but my rates for usually everything are a lot cheaper than the dealer...I have done everything with the exception of vanos units, which I migh just buy the tools for and start doing them. I have plenty of customers in the over 50k bracket, and many of their cars run just fine with the exception of maybe an intake valve cleaning, sparkplugs and oil changes. If you think you can afford it, go for it, but there will always be an unplanned expense that might set you back quite a bit. For 3k more I could jump into a decent mileage mid-80s 911. Now THAT is a fun car to own, and it prolly costs as much to maintain as some of these peoples BMWs on here. |
