Threads like this fail sooo fucking much. I normally try not to comment but it's insane how less than 10% of the people that posted here noticed the irony of this entire thread.

This is honestly the reason I didn't want to buy a BMW. There's a stigma that goes along with owning a "BMW"...as most people view you as a pompous douchebag who thinks he's sooooo awesome because he drives a 3 series.

It's amazing...I made an intro thread on this forum and I explained how I came from a VW Passat and I received about 3 comments telling me how a VW isn't a real German car...and I finally realized why no one in the VW community likes a BMW owner! Last time I checked that Passat was shipped in from Wolfsburg.

This entire thread is coming from a guy who owns a 2006 Four Door 325i. If anyone failed it was you...

I hope you found the "German engineering" douchbaggery towards Japanese cars quite commonly found in VW communities equally annoying.

Having said that, I would agree that some members of this forum seem to be really quite immature. But then again, when you are 21, and you bought a used BMW for the same money that your peers spent to get a new GTI or a WRX, you want to believe that you are the smartest guy in the world to have figured it out, and that what you drive makes you that much cooler than they are. It's an unfortunate side effect of owning a car from a company whose motor is "Ultimate Driving Machine".

The point wasn't to flame him for having a "lesser" BMW and if that's how you read it...then my apologies and I should have worded it better. My point was that the same logic can be applied in this forum and someone here can trash the OP for having a 325i instead of an M3...it was the irony I was pointing to...

The point was the irony in it and from everyone else who decided to post some bullshit comment agreeing with him. Re-read the first page and look at all the comments regarding the Mustang and how they trashed it... a "rustang"...really?


And yes...the same thing holds true within the VW community to a certain extent. There are a ton of douchebasg with GTI's sitting on coils with some 3 piece forge wheels that think they're sooo much better than some dude in a stock GLI.


It's quite sad...and fustrating to read...


P.S. - Don't be a diva dude...there's nothing wrong with a Passat at all.

I get your point, and I agree with you, but I think you should chill out a little. At the end, it's not unusual for people in a car forum to make fun of other brands and models. Most people do it half-jokingly. It's much more tasteless when people in the same forum start fighting over whose trim level is better, but on this thread at least, I think it's mostly the former.

As the OP, the point of the post was to make fun of douchebags who can't park. Whether you drive a BMW or not. I was being half facetious when I said "inferior" cars. I've driven all types of cars including chevy s10, caddi sedan deville, camry, Audi a4, E30 m3, and my wife's e46 m3 conv. I would never look down on people for driving other than BMW. I was making fun of the way they PARK. My wife has a faster car than me and we laugh about it all the time.

THE IDEA THAT PARKING FAR AWAY OR TAKING UP 2 SPOTS IN AN EMPTY(ISH) LOT IS ARROGANT IS VERY MISGUIDED.

I was parking at a local shopping mall this past weekend. I almost ALWAYS park as far away as possible but this time I thought it wouldn't hurt to park close just for a second.

As I leave the car and approach the door I instinctively regret my decision to park close. I turn around and a 2009 jeep compas parks next to me. The door opend and BANG. My cars paint is now scratched and a small dent is in the rear door.

I park far away not because I think my car or myself is better than everyone else. I park far away because the majority of people do not look out for other people's property. They simply do not care. If you want to keep your car clean and dent free, take it upon yourself to ensure that happens.
