Silver Rods
If anyone has a picture of silver rods could you please post it? I have a titanium silver body paint and im thinking about painting matching rods but i dont know if it will look good or if it will look cheap/plastic-like.

I went the easy route and just covered them with extrawide black vinyl electrical tape.

![]() Might not be close enough, but you can see what they look like. I love it makes the front look cleaner in my opinion. Hope this helps |

I did this last week. Most people won't even notice but it does a nice little contrast. Excuse the dirty car and the crap photo. But you get the idea.

Finishing Rod DIY Paint Project (Photos)
Great DIY 💡- easy with patience. I did mine in :20 min and no tools (2007 335i preLCI Sedan A35 color). I was missing center finisher rod so may buy one (but the ugly license covers most of it anyway from view). The side ones lifted off with slow steady pressure pushing slightly up at angle while pulling out slowly from inside corner towards outer fat part (near wheels). I then hand sanded 220grit, and sprayed with spray paint placing them on sticks in yard. Used heat gun to dry between 3 coats and put back on car. Super simple. Now I’m wondering if I should mask or remove the grated to spray gloss black too. Would love to see how to do that (will search for it now). Some photos of process, before & after below. Hope it helps and think it does clean up the front well. Thanks everyone- getting some simple ideas to modernize on a dime budget and remember maintenance before mods is always key to long BMW life. This one - FREE since had the sand paper and paint.
