I can show you a pic in the morning of my Space Gray/Coral Red 2007's engine bay sans turbos/piping/etc. If your require the engine to be complete removed, you are going to be disappointed. That is not required for what we are doing. Is there anything else you'd like in the pic for authenticity? Perhaps a copy of Monday's NY Times?

Also the first 2 parts of the so called fuel system upgrade focused on lpfp now all of a sudden it's really not lpfp it's the hpfp and you're working on a single released in 2 weeks lol ok if it's not out in 2 weeks this us the 3rd biggest lie in e90post history, in other words won't be much of a shocker....
I think I speak for many of us when I say you need to slow your roll a little. This whole Ralph Nadar thing you have going on is getting old. At least Nadar had a grasp on things before he started to make a fuss. I get really tired of explaining things to you when its your lack of comprehension that causes all this drama. No one owes you anything. Not free information. Not free product. Not special discounts. You don't get what you want, when you want it, for the price you want it, by applying for the role of forum hero. No such role exists. We are here to exchange information freely. Whatever information we thing it is our best interest to reveal. In this case, it would not have been in anyone's best interest to reveal this project publicly. It's only now, that the project is well under way, that I feel comfortable announcing it. Even after I provide "proof" tomorrow, you can chose to either admit you were wrong or stick by your guns. Or do nothing at all. It really doesn't effect me our anyone else on this forum one bit. But there is just no need to call anyone a liar or to confront someone on the forum. If you want to tell me I'm lying, you could have called me and told me. And I would have shown you, on video, the work done to the car. Instead you chose to turn this into a public confrontation. Something that you can't possibly "win" if that is what one can call it. And I feel like a jerk responding to your insult and accusations. There are, quite frankly, many more constructive things that I can do. But no, I'm going to take 2 hours out of my day tomorrow just to go the shop to take a picture/video of my car. Just to keep Dzenno on e90post happy.

lol.. sorry to everyone else for having to hear this rant

Shiv

Yea lol I was shocked when I read this and you revealed it. I can understand people's disbelief on the single turbo subject. But guys it's for real this time.

Whatever man, I'll wait to see that single setup running in TWO weeks...keep on insulting, when I was running the procede you weren't so "unfriendly"...wonder where the bad mouthing is coming from now...

Good luck with the single turbo honestly...of course you don't owe me anything but you will owe the community and your customers something when you promise stuff like this...I put my money down this isn't anywhere close to ready in 2 weeks

Waitasec big guy. This is what I said:
Quote:
Yep. Work began last week. I'll start another thread later this week with some pictures charting the progress. Hope to have the car running within 2 weeks.
That is not a promise. That is not a guarantee. That is a hope. And getting projects like this done are a whole lot more difficult than accusing someone of lying on an internet forum. So it's really ok if 2 weeks turns into 3. Or 4. Or 20. This is an engineering exercise. The only goal is to do it correctly. However long that takes. But based upon what I know right now, it should be drivable in 2 weeks. Of course, unforeseen things can come up during that time when making a one-off product that has never successfully been done before. Anyone who has ever designed something new before should know that.

Again, please show some more understanding and less ego. I don't know what has gotten into you lately.

Shiv

This is our own in-house project. We have not made the decision to make this a official product that we will sell. Unlike the case with ETS, turbo kits aren't our main focus. So it very well may be a situation of dialing in our prototype single turbo. And then taking what we've learned and applying it to the publicly available ETS kit (when ready).

When manufactures etc give you insight into their R&D and pet projects it's a privilege afforded you by the great mediums we have today...... such as this forum....... for those that keep sniping from the sides........ give it a rest please......you really are only shining a light on yourself in a not so favorable way.

Didn't you finish the asr turbo installation like 2 months ago? Why switching so quickly?

That was already explained earlier in this thread. The ASR turbos are going into another test car. That set up is already fully dialed-in tune-wise so there is not much work left. Understandably, the single turbo will need quite a bit more calibration time/testing due to convention pressure actuated wastegate. So it makes sense for it to go into my personal daily driver. Plus, it will provide a good direct a/b comparison with the ASR turbos which I consider to be the best twin turbo upgrade currently available.

If I had no business interests, I'd be very content making 520whp@20psi with the ASR turbos. It's unreasonably fast and fun to drive. I can't imagine it not making most folks very happy. But curiosity gets he best of me. So I'd like to see how much power the car can make efficiently running a more reasonable boost pressure. If I can walk away with making the same responsive power at just 16psi while cleaning up the somewhat convoluted factory induction/exhaust plumbing, I'd consider it a very successful project. One that will give us a lot of insight into future product development. We can only estimate so much on paper so it's time we do it for real.

Plus with the ability to run more boost easily, we can get a very good handle on fuel system requirements for lunatic fringe applications.

Shiv

K cool. I wasn't following this thread since I have no intentions of upgrading turbos.

So did I understand you correctly here? You think 580 whp from the single is possible at 16 psi on pump with no upgrade to the fueling?

Or is that a target goal with meth and upgraded fueling?

Shiv, the single hairdryer sounds awesome but will you be gauging how this improved setup will be affecting the internals and other non-moving parts. I don't think making twice the whp is an easy task without taking into account all the associated parts that contribute it a reliable daily driver. OTOH, I commend you for taking the select few to new areas of thought, research and development.

Say that to the 2JZ crowd. It's time to find out how strong this motor really is.
