Hey danielt, your method didn't work However, I have worked out that if you put your PDC on before you put the car in gear, and leave the PDC on (it will switch off by itself after driving for about 10 sec.s), you can watch TV when you stop without pulling the handbrake or putting it in park.

I find that if I press on the idrive as soon as the accept screen comes up, I am able to watch TV when stationary most of the time even without putting on the handbreak. Try it guys and tell me whether it works for you as well. Good luck.

This is what works for me (with steptronic transmission):

1. you need to have got the software update to progman 25.xx.xxx
2. while the engine is off, put your foot on the footbrake
3. press the start button
4. change gears from Park to (Reverse or Drive)
5. release the handbrake
6. keep your foot on the footbrake
6. TV should work when stationary and not with the handbrake on!!!

Mine is working fine with pressing the IDrive button as soon as the accept screen appears. Sorry to hear that it didn't work for you, manyways. Might be due to different software program.

off topic, but with the idrive, can you set destinations while driving? or do you have ot be stationary? it's something i noticed my car does when i changed from a different car which you had to be stopped in to do anything

My car just scraped into the March production. I have not had any problem watching TV since I have been quick with confirming the accept screen.

Mine works when stationary, no problems. Occasionally it gets contankerous.

I'm looking at buying one of those tvandnav2go things from the states. $350 USD so it's a tad expensive. Only issue is their sales people are very hard to get firm information from, for instance I asked how it is installed and they replied with

" The unit plugs into the Mask of the car and will give you video in motion. If your car currently places TV while parked this will give you
video while in motion"

Now does anyone know where to find the mask in a 335

I think this is a question to ask the USA guys who has done the modiication. Hopefully someone has got some pics. I thought the TV and Nav units were in the boot under the mat next to the bluetooth unit.

Yeah have asked them the question again, asking for pics or installation instructions. If it's in the boot then sounds pretty easy, if behind the dash then a major PITA.

Mine has digital as well as analogue (Nov 07 build). It also seems to detect HD channels when scanning but unable to re-broadcast. All other normal digital stations not a problem. The whole system only works however when in "P". Footbrake makes no difference. Audio track only when car is in "D" or anything other than "P".

Astra, love the antenna on your car. Do you think this would improve the TV reception on my car and is it possible to fit onto the 335i vert?

Just a heads up... There is a tool you can buy that unlocks all the features on your car. TV working while driving is one of them

Hi astra - are you sure you can do this for the E90 ? I have seen some obscure references about some flag the you set with an instrument similar to the ones the dealers use, but it's meant to be really expensive, and only for the E46.

Do you have any more details ?

It makes sense that if you could access the car's programming that you could switch the damn thing off ...
