We have one potential place in mind (South Bay) that can accomodate everyone and allow us to have a BBQ potluck so we can all hang out and EAT! This location is open from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. Most malls will not allow for an organized congregation of vehicles, plus experience has shown that it is very inconvenient if not impossible to accomodate extremely large parties of people at one local restaurant. The advantage of having a BBQ is that we don't have to caravan to a crowded lot and wait for the eats. Last edited by ksfrogman; 05-20-2007 at 11:57 AM.. |

I don't think cramming 50+ people into a restaurant is a good idea. And if we were to do this, are the restaurants within walking distance? Glendale is pretty darn crowded, and the Galleria bicycle wannabe cops are idiots.
Better to have a place we can all stay parked at. |

Okay, all you OC people who can't drive outside the OC area, we're open to suggestions. We were thinking of Huntington State Beach, but though firepits are allowed, we're not sure about BBQ.
We need a place we can prepare food (i.e., park), park together while avoiding the crowds, and offer a fun environment for everyone, not just us, but kids, significant others, etc. Here's an idea for a place in South Bay. Wilson Park (near Crenshaw Blvd and Sepulveda Blvd) 2400 Jefferson Street Torrance, CA (310) 328-4964 Last edited by ksfrogman; 05-22-2007 at 01:00 PM.. |

What about Miles Square park? It's been a LONG time since i've been there but maybe. I think we did a BMW CCA clean car contest there a few years ago.

hmm...wilson park....
where would everyone park their cars? i think the bbq areas would be too far away from the cars...if anyone is scared of some punk kid doing some stuff to their car then it wouldnt be such a good idea.. The main parking lot is off to the side of the park and the tennis courts/hocky/skatepark block the view of the cars how about Columbia Park? on 190th? |
