Actually to be fair - that is not true.

Having recently bought SF-71's from Alufelgen they have asked me to share my experience in dealing with them.

With regards to the packaging I woulg give them 10/10, all of the wheels were packed professionally, extremely carefully and there was plenty of protective packaging covering the face of the alloy wheels. All four alloys wheels were received unmarked and in excellent condition.
With the way the wheels were packed it would be very difficult for them to be damaged in transit.

Once the wheels had been shipped I received delivery of them in 5 days.

We all know that these are CSL rep's and in my opinion these are of a much higher quality than most of the others out there.

The only negative thing was that I had to pay a small customs charge, which I suppose is normal when purchasing goods from the USA.

My advice to them would be to respond to emails a lot quicker than they currently do. I have no idea why this is the case but it's definitely something that needs to be improved.

I would have no hesitation in buying from Alufelgen in the future.

It just shows that you're only as good as your last Job, if the last group buy mistakes had been fixed in the correct way i.e. replacement wheels free of charge and all the shipping and taxes covered then maybe the members who had the issues wouldn't have aired their problems again in this thread. (which I don't blame them)

Every business makes mistakes it's how you rectify them that sets you apart from the rest.

Alufelgen need to answer the questions posted in the previous posts and offer a proper group buy, saving a bit on postage isn't really a group buy

I would have thought that due to the problems last time Alufelgen would really pull out the stops and offer the uk members a cracking deal that would be too good to pass up.

Looking forward to see how alufelgen handle this situation.

Come on Alufelgen, Lets hear a response please.
Alot of genuine interest here, for the right price and shipping set up you may still have a business case for GB.

I've been in touch with Matt at Alufelgen now.
He asked if any UK members who have had problems receiving emails back from them, could send a screen shot of their original emails, so he can check up on their replies.

Matt tells me that Alufelgen reply to all of their emails & have a dedicated team to do solely that. He also tells me they're not the same company they were 2 years ago.

Also, it would appear that some members who've had problems with Alufelgen, were actually dealing with DTMRack.com, a separate US dealer. If this was the case, then it'd be useful if this were mentioned.

I've asked Matt to state exactly what the group buy is, detailing final cost to UK customers, including all shipping charges, import tax & any other duties.

I'll let the thread run, hoping UK members will give Matt a chance to reply to those customers who have actually had a lack of communication from Alufelgen. Just post a shot of your sent email & Matt can respond, ok. I think that's fair.

Hi All,

I was part of the UK GB back in June 2010. My wheels arrived in great condition and looked the business.

However, my rear wheels have developed a an issue where they appear to have lots of black specs on them, they now look like a pubesent teenagers face at close range, hundreds of little black dots on each wheel. I reported this to Alufelgen shortly after the 12month warranty had expired ( I was just hoping the issues would just go away or not get worse but it did). Alufelgen have analysed a few photos and have agreed to supply me with 2 replacement wheels. I was hoping that I would get these delivered FOC but as I was just out of warranty they stated they where doing their part by honouring the warranty. I accepted this and over the past 6 months I've been trying to workout some way of getting the wheels to me without paying $300 shipping charges. They did actually state that the rear wheels could be a slightly different colour as Hyperblack can vary from batch to batch, they have offered to sell me the fronts at cost price but the delivery would goto $450.

I would say that Alufelgen haven't been too bad with me. Whilst its not fantastic, i.e. no FOC delivery on replacment wheels, I can understand them not doing this, given the large costs involved. It would wipe out their profits if they could offer this. So I would say, don't worry about the comments here too much, you'll get looked after. You have to be aware of the risk with returns and costs you could face.

I was one of the buyers on the original GB that had damaged wheels and a long wait to get replacements.

I couldn't fault the wheels and would buy again but AluFelgens customer service back then left a lot to be desired.

If they have sorted this, redesigned the packaging and put customer satisfaction as a higher priority, it would be worth a punt imho....

It just depends on what deal they are offering - the price for a set doesnt look that great considering they want 24 buyers!

Such as shame they don't have a UK reseller.....

If the wheels and supplier are so good why isn't there a UK dealer wanting to import the wheels?

^THIS!^

I am a distributor for some weaponary Car Audio products which I have been importing/exporting for the last 10 yrs. Customers want back up, we give it in droves.. gives me great pleasure in seeing my customers happy.

Not having a UK supplier shows the company has little long term outlook on the brands reputation and not thinking how to deal with the major concern of after sales.

DO the right thing, get an Authorised distributor set up in the UK. It'll put some if not all the issues to bed.

Neil@juiceduptuning would seem the obvious candidate for this. Great to deal with and excellent communication.

Your right, Neil is VERY good.

So exactly why would he want to get involved in this possibly disastrous scenarios lol?

Beautiful looking wheels for a reasonable price considering perceived quality, but a minefield I wouldn't want to get involved with. It is a shame the sponsor hasn't responded in general to some of the concerns, it would probably favour a second group buy (though a bulk discount would seem fair). Perhaps they've pulled the plug on the idea given the strength of negativity received - it's doubtful they'll realise 24 sets on the above without a response at least.

It's not just the UK where customer service can be suspect (communication often being the most crucial aspect). Thanks for sponsoring our forum though Alufelgen!

Thank you for the positive feedback. As part of any standard warranty policy, every company we work with will cover the cost of the replacement past exclusive of shipping cost, even within the US. We are currently working with several UK retailers to have the wheels available in stock for the UK market and this will also help future warranty claims.

There seems to be a perceived negativity from prospect buyers based on the feedback of 2-3 buyers from our previous GB. We had over a dozen sets delivered and only 2-3 had issues and those issues were rectified as soon as we possibly could. A forklift from DBSchenker struck one of the pallets and knocked it over. This was completely out of our control. The damage to the wheels, however, could've been prevented or minimized if the wheels were properly palletized or the wheels inner packaging would've been tougher. This was in 2010. We were a completely different company then. We have since then upgraded all of our packaging and have not had a single issue since then. Our customer service has improved drastically since then as well. We have a staff dedicated only to customer service issues. You cannot, however, expect service over the weekend since our offices are closed. Our products also have the best quality among all of our competitors. From strength, weight, looks, paint quality and an unmatchable warranty that comes with every purchase and that is why they have been so popular.

In 2011, ALUFELGEN sold and delivered 124 set of wheels to UK buyers out of which ZERO received any damage via transit and were delivered satisfactorily 3-5 days after payment was received. We understand that some participants of the GB will not get over the previous GB issues and will continue to provide negative feedback regardless of their situation being rectified and we find that to be a natural reaction of when a consumer is not satisfied with a transaction.

We do not wish to go into business if the consumer is already expecting a negative outcome from a transaction. For these reasons we will not be continuing with this GB. We are currently setting up a few UK retailers that you are going to be able to purchase the wheels locally from. We really appreciate the UK market and are doing everything possible so that our products are readily available from UK local stores. In the meantime, UK buyers can contact us at Sales@ALUFELGENWheels.com for pricing and availability.

Pardon for what was perceived as a lack of response from us but our offices closed early on Thursday and will re-open on Monday due to Passover/Eastern this weekend.

You can find our new packaging reference sheet attached. Any questions/concerns please allow us until Monday to respond. Have a great eastern weekend!
