You are correct but incomplete. You want "more dense" air to hit your turbos for "better efficiency". A DCI setup draws significantly "less dense" air as opposed to a CAI setup that significantly draws "more dense" air

True, if you have colder air, you have more oxygen per molecule, which means you won't have to spin the turbo's as hard to get the same amount of air compared to hotter air. This all translates to efficiency.

A little supplement to modding the aFe stage 2 Si

I bought carbonfiber vinyl from 3M on ebay 12 " x 12 " will do.

This how it ended up.

Yeah , it was a quick fix , I never laid vinyl before , this was my first.

The lid is also easy to make in carbon fiber , makes the intake look much more classy in my opinion.

Just an update to this post. Even after some vanos tuning the aFe stage 2 Elite was able to provide and handle 21-22 PSI keeping wgdc sub 70% on an average

The project of custom sealing it was to create a more vacuum like air intake system similar to the stock intake

How does it sound with the kid open? Induction, whistle etc??

I wasn't impressed with the lack of induction note on the older AFE intakes, since both banks are sucking from the 1 element, is this louder?

The cover off the sucking of air sound is loud especially during the cold weather.

Louder than the original AFE dual cone setup?

Is there a spool whistle or induction whine?

Power/Temp Changes?

Have you looked into what changes the snorkel modification has made?

Thanks for the post!
