I think alot of people that worry are forgetting we are dilluting the E85 by 50% so most theories that are not facts about running E85, almost completely are dismissed in our case anyways.

I agree, although if you left the mixture in the car for so long it may have some ill effects. Mainly because the 93 will eventually breakdown and the E85 would most likely remain. These effects happen to cars even when E85 is not induced. This would obviously be over a long period of time.

Well...I already have the Dinan tune so I know exactly what you are saying, got it due to warranty stuff. I was just wondering if I would benefit at all from running E85.

I ran E85 for the first time with the latest JB4 5/23 firmware and the car ran great. E85 was $3.49 a gal. I did about a 40% mix with 93 octane.

Those in the Ashburn, Va area are very close to an E85 pump at the Sunoco on Belmont Ridge Road at the new Goose Creek development.

Really. And you base this on what? Your personal knowledge/experience or what you read in the "fast and furious" section on this site? I find that most people who knock Dinan either can't afford it or would rather deceive the dealership to get a few more horsepower and hope like hell they don't end up in a warranty-denied situation.

All that aside, no "tune" is going to compensate for the mileage loss you get when using a fuel with less thermal efficiency. Look at it this way - diesels get far better fuel economy than gasoline engines because a given quantity of diesel contains more BTU energy than gasoline. E85/ethanol/alcohol fuels provide a higher octane, or resistance to detonation, but contain less thermal energy. If your fuel is less thermally efficient, you can't "tune" that out unless you figure out how to do cylinder deactivation or engine start/stop during coasting/stopped situations. What the other posters (and I) have said about deteriorating your fuel system components is irrefutably true - but it's your car, so you're free to use whatever fuel you want. Just don't complain when you suffer the consequences.

Dinan tunes are outperformed by every other tune on the market. While it could be argued that the true "value of a Dinan product is the warranty that accompanies with it", but unfortunately Dinan doesn't always stand behind it. This opinion is a combination of personal knowledge, dynos illustrating performance and speaking w/ the BMW mechanic.

Basically, Dinan is a waste of money, unless you do happen to be looking for those grandpa gains.

A e85 specific map either from bms or Vishnu is going to be your best friend

Try it, I did and felt the difference immediately but i am running more boost than the typical dinan stage 2

I run 20% e85 / 91 mix so I can run the cobb aggressive map (no 93 in Denver) and my car is much stronger and smoother on it.

Wow gas is still that high in your area? Its finally dropping where Im at, about 15 minutes north of Philly. But its really hard to find e85 around here. But the 93 oct I use Ive found for about $3.48 a gallon.

Not only is E95 $.75/gal cheaper than 93, but you really notice the difference in torque in this car. After putting in 34% mix of E85 (66% 93 oct/34% E85), the car really pulls after hitting the throttle.
I'm going to use 50/50 mix when I run empty and do more test, but for now the power and low cost of E85 is amazing. Here's a quick log I took when I got on the freeway.

Yea, gas prices has dropped in the last three weeks, but not as low as $3.48. Best price is $3.99.
I've gotten a few codes in the last 2 weeks with 50/50 mix, so I'm running a full tank of 93 with no codes as of yet.
