IIRC, the purpose of EGR is NOx reduction; if that is correct, it might be true that the elimination of EGR won't tremendously affect the production of soot. Not sure about that, just guessing.

"Disconnecting" the EGR valve will lower the production of soot inside the cylinders and intake by a significant margin. The proof of that is your oil will stay clean for a while after you change it vs it'll get immediately black after a short drive with EGR "on".
The only question is how the DPF will hold up with time and miles if not reprogrammed with EGR "off". Ecotune very nice gains btw! What is the eco setting? Can you have both or you choose one when remaped? |

http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...0&postcount=10 I like the idea of this remap and being able to eliminate EGR. Thanks for sharing about it. I'd be very interested to find out what it does to rail pressure. If it acts like the Evolve remap it leaves rail pressure alone. Which is good, so if one is so inclined it can be stacked with a pressure box like the JBD for even more increase. |

It's a total of 5 lol, a small fleet. Good to hear from Cummins lover.
![]() Mods so far on my first purchased truck with ISX SIG600/2050TQ in 06 Volvo VN780 with Eaton 13 and 3.58 rears. Full turbo-back 6" straight pipe single stack. f'k emissions lol ![]() EGR dissconected not reprogramed EGR pipe removed and sealed PP Crankshaft balancer PDI Exhaust manifold for VGT PDI Air Intake manifold Borg Warner K30 fan clutch Detroit Rad Intercooler Detroit Rad Radiator Fleet Air Filter Air Dog II FAS and some minor others... Dyno'd at Cummins with their latest calibration 650HP to the wheels @1850RPM and 600HP@2100RPM with 2200TQ. Almost 1 mil miles still before inframe. It's done it's duty to the west coast. Now it's doing south east. No plans on swapping the Holset VGT and going non wastegated. Cummins interbrake with VGT FTW! |

"Pizzaman"- Did Stan at Ecotune also provide you with the DPF bypass pipe, or did you have that made locally here in the states?

Anymore updates on how the remap is working for you? Any problem so far?
Just picked up a 2011 335d and I'm interested in re-mapping it as well. I'm in Toronto so JR auto is not far away from me. |

You're entering a place where there be dragons... you should really, really, really be monitoring your EGT's/AFR/Boost if you go this route so you don't blow up your engine, let alone damage your transmission...
