Thanks! I grew up building and modding LT1 and LS1 f bodies. Definitely an EXCELLENT car for the money. I may sell the goat and buy one of the new Camaros when they come out depending on how much of the concept aspect they do away with. We'll just have to see, when the finished product hits showrooms.

I figure they will be selling for over invoice for the first year. Either way I'll be waiting until I can pick up a Z06 for my next lsx. |

Design yes, small details that will be carried over from concept to production: no. I guaruntee that car is not going to be sporting 20+" rims. Chevy would never give the Camaro bigger rims than the vette...which is now sitting at 18/19 staggered. (Z06) Also, small things such as use of leather, stitching, the way all the guages will look and where they will actually be placed could be different in the production outfit. I really like the interior design, I just hope GM doesn't ditch it all in favor of some cheap plasic. It's about time they got their act together and started producing a car with a decent interior fit and finish wise.

I'd love to join you guys for a friend run or two. I'm in the College Park area but have been known to go outside my neighborhood for some fun. Shoot me a PM - I'm in! |

The 335i is an amazing machine. Truely will be the tuner's choice for BMW's. Hoping to see one of you guys swap turbo's. I considered buying the 335i after my Volvo S60R but I wanted something a bit cheaper to mod and track. Really hoping to see one up at Roebling one of these days. Here a few shots I took this weekend of my GTO. Have not taken it to the strip but I am expecting around mid 12's. The car dyno'ed 405 rwhp when it was 105 degrees outside and came right off the street. Good conditions should see closer to 430 rwhp. |

GTOs are not that fast. They weight like 3700lbs and 400/400 lbs/tq. SC ones can get moving though. Although somehow MT claims 0-60 4.7 they got...hmmm...

Sniz, clear out your PM box on the "other" forum.
Clem, I'm shooting you a PM now. Hopefully we can set something up this weekend. You don't by chance have a decent video camera do you? All I've got is the video feature on my 8.1mp Sony Camera. I have access to a suction mount though, its fixed though so no panning side to side during footage. |

Hopefully I will have a chance to take the GTO up to Roebling Road Raceway in Georgia in the next couple of months to get some lap times. My modded Volvo S60R was running about 1:32-1:33 unofficially. My buddy's stock E46 M3 was running very similar times as well. Hoping to get the GTO into the 1:26 area. Those GTO's look nasty. Thats the Diff b/w a 335 and a GTO. I think the bimmer will always be fast sneaky and classy, thats what it does best. A GTO does BADASS best! With a sound that says "eats little old ladies for lunch!"

As someone who has had both, I can say (from first-hand experience) the GTO is a totally different kind of performance car. More raw and emotional; my 04 A4 (with a semi-custom tune) was an absolute blast to drive. With the "torque management" squelched by the tune, this car was a beast. Not the smooth, composed and seemingly relaxed attitude of the 335. I paid just over $23,000 brand-spanking-new for my 2004 GTO in Sept. of 2004... talk about bang for buck. No, it isn't near the complete car the 335i is, but it was also half the price. Lot's of folks around here (not all, but many) like to "paper" race. Go drive a GTO and then talk about how slow they are.
BTW, I also did a Monaro conversion on mine. Front facia, wheels, even emblems (inside and out). I was at the Infiniti/Porsche/Audi dealership (wife wanted to look at a G35 coupe) and after about 30 minutes a crowd formed around my "Holden Monaro CV8."

gto can be fast. my friend has one thats all motor that runs high 11's all day and another friend has a turbo gto that runs low 11's on pump gas pretty consistent. but in the end there all just cheap GM's.
