If you drive the car in the winter time, i would repaint the subframe with more durable paint. My 06 rear subframe has a lot of surface corrosion and looks awful. Ive been considering puting POR15 on mine to take care of the issue and to prevent it from becoming anything structural down the line.

You can spray it on without taking anything apart. Maybe just clean it up as best you can and thats about it. Really good stuff.

Except, I'd get it in a liquid form and use a spray gun to really atomize it into a fog.
