Hi, I need some help in understanding ncsexpert profiles. From what i read that basically we need only 3 types of profiles.
1.Profile to just read the parameters from the module.(generating .TRC file)
2.Profile to write back .man file.( after manipulating .trc file)
3.Profile to write default values to the module according to vehicle's VO.
Am i right?
If yes then could anybody please send me profiles to accomplish above said tasks on ncsexpert 4.0.1?
Also what is the password to edit profiles in 4.0.1?repxet is not working on 4.0.1. Thanks in advance.

You need a Expertmode (or whatever you want to call it) and a Write profile. Both will read the modules. Expertmode will do the default and the Write profile will do the coding manipulation. You can make your own profiles and call them whatever you want. Read this guide starting about halfway down. It tells you how to set up your own profiles. http://codinge90.com/getting-started/ I can send you a zip of 4.0.1 profiles, no password needed.

Thanks LMB335IS for the files!!
I tried to edit "EXPERT MAN" and "Revtor's NCS Expert Profile" just to find the difference and the only difference i found is in SGET-DATA.In revtor's all options are ticked but in EXPERT MAN ,all are ticked except "enter SGET data".I think both "EXPERT MAN" and "Revtor's NCS Expert Profile can be used to write back the .MAN file to the module.
My question is what does "enter SGET data" means and why its not ticked in EXPERT MAN profile even thou people are using it to write .MAN file.Thanks.

Small problem, I am setting up my NCS Expert profile according to the instructions here (http://codinge90.com/getting-started/#S5) and I have no file in my WORK folder entitled FSW_PSW.MAN, so I can get all the way to step 18, but when I hit the 'back' button I get an error saying FSW_PSW.MAN could not be opened for reading...
Feel like I'm almost there! Any help is appreciated

EDIT: Figured it out - just need to make a copy of the TRC file and rename it to .MAN... Coded digital speedo then battery died... Whoops.

Hi All,

I upgraded the rear lights on my wife's E70 X5 to the newer facelift version (big improvement!) and tried to get rid of the two stage light error using NCS Expert, but have run into what I believe is a common problem.

Opened NCS Expert and tried to load the expertmode profile and got the following error: NCS expert "profil version 2.0 ungültig"...

I've searched the web and believe I need to update my profile to version 3.0 or 4.0.
I found a link to the newer profiles on here, but now it seems the zip folder is invalid or corrupted?

Can anyone point me in the right direction, or send me a new 3.0 profile as lots of searching for the last few weeks has not helped..

I'm also hoping that when I can get the coding to update "+MUEH to FA in CAS and FRM modules" it will also allow the rear fog light to work again, if not I may need some help with that as well.

Running NCS Expert 4.0.1
Old laptop with Windows XP

Thanks in advance.

The only instructions I can find to create one are for the old version. Are there instructions for Creating a new write profile in NCS Expert v4.0.1?

Thanks for your help.. The problem is that the instructions tell you to:

Click File, and then click on Load Profil.
Choose the Expertmode profile and then click the OK button.

If I do this I get the error "profil version 2.0 ungültig"

Even if this did work I've read that when you try and click on Edit Profil and enter the Password "repxet" it doesn't work on version 4.0.1.

Everything I've read suggests I can change the VO using Expertmode, I just need a 3.0 profile rather than a 2.0...
