Mr Murray,
In a different thread a few days ago you were anxious to tell me that "in (your) opinion, I had no business in (a particular) thread"... Maybe you should take your own advice

xedeboy- Interesting name, btw. Let's address your comments one-by-one. Read carefully.

The only thing the PROcede has now that the Xede had when we developed it for the 335i was switched power. It didn't offer on-board boost control. It only offered an aux. boost control solenoid (for the beta release anyway). The abilty to switch map has always been there with the PROcede. It's just the idea of running a wire into the cabin which did not appeal to me. We did it upon request but the software-only solution with v2 is better conceivec, IMHO. As for power, Xedes never made more power than v1.x PROcedes. How could they, they controlled the same sensors and induced similar timing/fuel/boost changes. I know, because I mapped them all.

Quote:
I'm sure you had your reasons for switching to the haltech hardware but the xede seems to work fine, as proved by you, 8 months ago.
You should re-read my post explaining why we made the switch to a different platform. If you do, you'll see that I decided the idea of buying back 20-30 Xedes (and replacing them with PROcedes) was a lot more attractive than explaining to hundreds of customers, 8 months later, why their Xede was obsolete and hardware limited. And that to get the new features/power, they will have to upgrade to the Xede Pro (which we were working on, with Chiptorque, shortly before we jumped shipped). To me, the idea of spending $150 on a simple harness update is a lot more attractive than having to buy a whole new computer and harness. But that's just me.

Quote:
Also FWIW why are you waiting for speedo connectors? Aren't they the same ECU pins you use in your normal product? Sounds pretty fishy to me, like maybe you're making that up.
Yes they are the same pins. But we need them to be crimped on lone wires, not as a part of a harness. Oh yeah, we also need 650 of them. Does this still sound fishy?

Quote:
Maybe the haltech software team isn't as responsive as you'd like them to be?
The Haltech software team isn't responsible for any of the PROcede work. So their responsiveness is of no matter to us.

Cheers,
shiv

Everytime I read these posts it makes me glad I am enjoying my car stock(cause I've learned the hard way you never have enough power anyway).I haven't had one issue in 8k miles and have no plans to mess with a really fine car that has plenty of power for the street as is,that's why I bought it.If you mod accept the consequences.

Hey Shiv,

My 335 has be running like a mofo for about 5 month now and suddenly the dogon thing started giving me 335 and 238 codes. I checked the power and ground connections. I cannot say that I'm exactly happy that my Procede is giving me fits after 5 months. I just don't believe my wiring has come loose. Is it possible that my connections are wrong and worked for 5 months and now don't work? Will V2.0 work for this problem?

That wasn't an Xede. It was a PROcede. That was what I meant by our latest round of "Updates" and how we mentioned that the Xedes with have to be "swapped out" with something new.

Why can't you just set the boost to 15psi across the board with an xede to match your v2 numbers? After all it's a programmable system, seems easy enough to do.
It's not the Xede or PROcede which protests when it comes to supporting 15psi across the board. But the factory ECU. And that requires some work to get around. And a few extra digital inputs/outputs.

Will you bitches stop crying and help me out? My car seems to take plenty of time to start. Is it a fuel pump or will this happen when the Procede isn't getting power?

Actually, no. I left the office to go wire an XEDE up on a Miata. Yes, an Xede. I'm back now.

If you suddenly through those two codes, that's indicative of you loosing power on your PROcede. When you lose power, you lose continuity on the crank angle sensor and MAP sensor (the two codes you are throwing). This can also be caused by unplugging the PROcede befoe the ECU times out and powers off. Since this occured after months of driving (and presumably no other work inthe ECU compartment), just check your power connection. Also, make sure your harness is plugged into your PROcede all the way (you'll hear a click).

I put the bypass plugs in and the car fired up no problems. However, this crazy thing has done the same thing 5 times in the past after sitting all night. I limped home a few hundred yards and went out the next morning to try and figure out what was wrong and the car starts right up without an engine light. I'm miffed.
