If you want superb pads, try Carbotech XP8's, these have an awesome reputation with the GTR and Evo crowd, and for good reason.

I use the XP10 compound in my Evo 6 sprint car, and after using many, many different fast road and race pads over the last 25 years, they are the best I've used. Great modulation, and superb bite and feel. You will not get them to fade, they will take everything you throw at them.

Other pads worth a try are Pagid RS 4-2-1 blacks, Ferrodo DS3000, Perfromance friction PF97 or 01 compound, Endless, Project Mu.

Seconded, I fitted all M3 arms and bushes and Ohlins with custom springs, it has absolutely transformed the car.

I really like KW, I've dealt directly with the factory in Germany for years, and use their 2 way competition race units, excellent suspension and good value as well.

Just stay way from cheapo Chinese/Taiwan stuff, BC, et al, as it will ruin the car.

Hmmmm, I plan to keep the car long term (until it dies) so I guess this would be money well spent! I wonder what the highest mileage E90 has clocked..

A buddy of mine is on the Puma side of things as a technician for BMW. He says they're already getting in X5d vehicles for servicing with 300,000 kms+.

Same engine as ours.

Don't ask. High end shop; high end parts; all in one go mostly. But worth it. I am at a different stage in life than most of the other enthusiasts on this forum, so I don't particularly care if it looks plain. The wheels and black grilles are enough for me. All I care about is how well it handles and how well it scoots. Now all I have to do is learn how to drive it properly. I watch a lot of onboard F1 Youtube hoping it will rub off. Not likely.

It's great to see some real intelligent mods, congrats, I bet the car is superb.

I cannot emphasise enough how much it will improve the car from standard, it makes a massive, massive difference.

Carbotech will make pads to fit whatever car you want.

They even made me customs pads for a Porsche brake kit I designed and made for my Evo.

Speed shop told me that ACS does not reveal their spring rates. My springs are progressive, not linear.

I'll third that. Driving dFans car (which is far more responsive, predictable, and drama free than mine) made me realize how utterly uncomfortable my standard sport suspension is. His upgrades truly do transform the vehicle in EVERY way...not just speed/performance, but overall daily driving goodness.

Ryan, I do all the work myself, I'm lucky enough to be an aircraft engineer by trade, and have always worked on my own cars.

I also have a company and build high spec Evo engines and transmissions in my spare time, as well as doing chassis/diff set-up for a Pro Time Attack team.

Brake fluid, I use Motul RBF600 and Castrol SRF.

Apex sell very light 18" rims in a selection of widths and offsets.

Ray's and Advan's also sell light forged wheels, but they are not cheap!

The Morrs wheels I use are forged, CNC machined, and the fronts are 9kg for a 8.5x19" and 10.5kg for the rear 10x19"

Colours Are All Sorted. I've Chosen The Colour Codes Which Are Now On Order! It Will Be A Certain Type Of Matte Blue (not 3m) With Matte Black Grilles, Roof Etc.

good luck with the mods keep us posted. is this vinyl you using for wrap is from Arlon? i want to use matte blue metallic too but for now only just sprayed the body kit and there is few imperfections so will have to wait until these get done right...

I'm using the Hexis colour chart, which has various shades of matte blue

I wouldn't waste time spraying if your'e going to wrap.. Also, if you spray too soon before you have wrapped you will pull the paintwork off when you remove the wrap (if you ever do)
