I called Ambassador just now and they said they are open for dim sum at 10AM on Thanksgiving Monday. Here are pics of the front entrance to the place, the upper parking lot and the lower parking lot. (They are empty becasue the pics were taken 8:45 in the morning). We have a good chance of taking over part of the lower parking or even the main parking in front of the place if we start gathering at 9 or 9:30AM and hang around a bit before they open the door.

Just a reminder:

When you look for a place please consider the security aspect: As we leave our whole fleet of very new and high value vehicles - some with expensive mods - unattended in the parking lot while we are all inside to have dim sum, there is always the risk of them being broken into, vandalized, or have pieces ripped off. So if all possible please find a place in a relatively safe neighbourhood, and/or have some windows facing the parking lot to allow us to keep an eye on them while we eat.

That is a really good point. If that is the case, we should restrict our "meet" within Markham and Richmond Hill and somewhere with good outdoor parking.

Personally, I like Golden Court the most since the restaurant is fairly large and will have larger tables available. If we are there early anyway, then we can pretty much go anywhere since parking will not be an issue until after 11:45to 12:00.

I have not been to some of these places so I don't know if they are good.

Of course, it also depends on how much you are planning to spend on the actual meal... some places are fancier than the others.

The ones in Scarb. are typically cheaper.

These places typically have reasonable number of parking spaces if we are there early. If we are going around rush hour, it will be difficult to find parking in any of these places.

11:45am is late for dimsum and you can guarantee that it will be packed. usually places start filling up around 10-10:30am.

you didnt list the times the opened...im purly going on guess. the places i frequent are generally open early, like 5:30am. old fogies go there to "yum jow cha"

There's also one called Dragon Boat Cuisine that's near all the restaurants (Jack Astor's, Demetres, Moxie's, etc) on highway 7 and highway 404.

I took my mom to Golden Court (黃金閣) a couple of time before and that place was crazy busy from very early hours. It was also quite noisy and crowded. They are across the parking lot from Ambassador (春秋食軒) and is quite a bit cheaper. Ambassador (春秋食軒), on the other hand, is more spacious and not as noisy but you pay more for it.

Didn't feel like it was fusion at all when I went. Only part that's fusion is their "lunch special", which was like sweet and sour pork with rice and spring rolls. But other than that, they have your regular dim sum and I don't think they're bad.

Someone please call the shot on the location and get an updated sign-up list going. We need a confirmed number of people to make a reservation. We also need volunteers to get there early to block off some parking space.
