Hi douwe22, I've replied to you with instruction already, please kindly check and have a try, thanks!

1. Why weren't any of my buttons working? Because one of the buttons was stuck. I was able to pull that out using my finger tips.
2. Why wasn't my DVD player working? Because I am a noob. I was not inserting the disc properly. It needs to be inserted at a slight incline because the stereo is on a negative incline relative to the head unit
3. Fitting - The fitting cannot be flush no matter what. This is because the curvature on the face of the Eonon is not curved as much as the factory. Also the climate control is what is pushing against the dash. The climate control was initially higher. But now it is at the complete bottom and this causes the two inputs for the climate control to hit the dash. You could cut a little bit of the dash, but that will only push it in by about half inch. The curvature of Eonon does not equal the curvature of the factory stereo and this is why it will never be flush.

Would I recommend it to someone else? It depends on how badly you want bluetooth, iPod, GPS, DVD, a 7 inch screen, cool radio looking integration vs. the classy BMW style. For the my BMW stock is not fancy enough and I needed the extra bells and whistles.
Hi baingr8, glad to hear most of the issues has been worked out, great job!

So here is some helpful info, if you, like me, purchased the Eonon 5165 and also realize you have Logic 7 sound system,douwe22 was kind enough to send me pics on what he did to bypass the BMW Logic 7 amp and run wires directly from the BMW amp harness to your own amp :

thanks again douwe22 , and if you have more pics, please do send that as well.

Can anyone who owns this comment on it? Is it worth it? Does it have electrical issues? Is the trimming really noticeable?

I finally installed my Eonon, and have a few questions, first how to you reset unit, because if u press the little "reset" all it does is reset ur audio settings and stations, but not the entire unit.

Secondly, does your volume work on "1" ? Mine goes from 0 (non sound on 1) then 2 which is quite loud?

And Third, how did u install ur head unit so it is "attached" to your car and not just setting in the open space ?

thanks

Am I the only one to think it is absolutely stupid to cater this to the E90 platform and offer 7 different button back lighting options, but not Amber? What is the point of offering it with all these different colors if it can't even match the stock interior lights?

i didn't need to reset mine, but if yours doesn't work probably disconnect the power cable would probably reset it, as for volume I have the same thing, volume starts at 2, (I have muffler delete so car is quite loud so starting volume at 2 is okay for me, lol)

the head unit can be secured using two long screws (2-1/2") under the volume button and tuning button, hope this helps.

Sorry to keep bugging you, but you seem to be the only one that has a a running 5165. Have you tried the SD card for music/movies ? And if so does it take a long time to load ? Mine takes literally 5 minutes before it actually is able to load and play music !

Eonon,

Any reason none of your head units volume start at 1? They all go from 0 to 2 and when playing the radio, 2 is pretty loud. Is this a fault in all the 5165's ?

thanks

Hi shaushshaush, for your issue, you can try to turn off the "LOUD" option in the audio setting, then the 2 won't be too loud. Thanks a lot!

Hi Transport3r, thanks for your advice. Could you please kindly show me a picture of the amber color lighting of your car? So that I can reflect to our R&D, and to see if we can make it in the future, thanks a lot!

First let me apologize for the attitude in my previous post, it wasn't appropriate or fair (i had a bad day, but that's a crappy excuse).
It's the same as any other e90/e92. I would have expected at least an amber option given that you offer 7 diffferent button colors. my guess is that you developed this unit for a different platform and then adapted it for use in BMW's?

Here's a picture of the stock radio for reference, I'll add one of my own when it goes dark here :

Wow it is kind of hard to find pics of the stock radio at night online, do you guys have a development car? Alot of the pictures online seem to have more of a red hue than in reality. I really recommend taking a look at a stock e9x radio at night before developing new backlighting for your units. Good luck!

*edit* Do you plan on a version that is directly compatible with Logic7 in the future? Also I think i see pre-amp outputs on this as well?
