boost has nothing to do with the IAT-based compensation table. IAT is not manipulated by the piggyback. perhaps Terry lowered the tolerances of the compensation table which PTF did not yet do. I'm sure it'll be coming in a future revision for you |

I have watched the DME pull timing and increase boost when IAT's got hot in order to meet load target, and in some cases seen it barely pull timing but decrease boost in order to meet load target under high IATs. The IAT comp tables are not the only tables the DME uses to factor load target IMO On a stand alone piggyback thats only allowing the DME to see 8 PSI when in fact its doing 20 PSI with 10 degree timing with high IATs the DME will have more tolerance in pulling timing vs a tune only that the DME actually sees 20 PSI with 10 degree timing it will be more aggressive towards. Its just plain observation of watching the characteristic of the DME. Last edited by BQTuning; 08-12-2013 at 10:47 AM.. |

the whole point of mentioning that was to clarify the piggyback does not make the car less knock prone than your flash tune. furthermore, neither car is less knock prone than the other in regards to tuning solutions. could be that E70 blend more so than the tune. just wanted to clear up some misinformation on your end. |

I sold my PROcede and my COBB... I'm now running a OFT custom Stg II meth and I can say I have a long way to go to get back to the 450 whp I was running with my PROcede, but people need to understand how much time goes into making OTS maps that will work for the vast majority of cars. Then to top that off, how much more time you need to invest in tuning it out just for your specific car so you can maximize the performance. The true limiting factor to our cars is the mods we select, not the tune. It's only a matter of time before we start seeing some good numbers from the OFT guys. It will be fun to say the least. Never get tired of the friendly competition. What I do get tired of is listing to the BS from the people who don't do anything on this form but yet want to flame and pass judgement as if they really have an opinion. You want to have an opinion, get out their and race like we do and try multiple tunes. At the end of the day, it will change your opinion and you won't be as quick to flame another tune or tuner. Keep the video's rolling bro... Never get tired of watching those stupid quick launches. That's got to be the best feeling in the world when she hooks up and pulls car lengths on the comp. ![]() |

As BuraQ mentioned, I reached out a couple of times to see if the Procede will support E85 tunes for DCT cars and was shot down.
Now I'm waiting to see whether I go OFT or Cobb V3 as my next tune depending on how results look on others' cars.

you know, OFT and OS guys are pretty much on the same team here. hard to be against Shiv when we are using the same tuning solutions. ![]() FYI I actually ran a Procede for a long time. boost control is the best on it even today. other issues prevent me from making it a strong recommendation. |

I would cut BuraQ some slack on this one. I am not a fan of his new record of the day posts, but he has paid dues & money to try a number of different approaches for the 335is. Any bit of info good or not so good about the different systems is useful. The Open Flash tablet has been heavily hyped so its interesting to see what it actually does at the track & not just the keyboard.
I am also encouraged by mdyates 11.829 and best trap of 118.18 with a pure stock tune only, RFT, 335is. His only mod is the JB4/ISO & the BMS backend flash. What is important to me is just a short way down the road I will be able to flash the BMS tune from my laptop using the freeware project now in beta. Its also a nice demo that a lot of the stuff being sold is not necessary to get under 12 seconds.

As far as getting "called out", I have a dying LP fuel pump leaning out on pump gas. Also you should know I don't track my car. |

If you are an MT or DCT car, your flash options at the moment are solid. PTF trapped 123 in a 6mt 335is... May I also point out that was one of the smoothest and solid tunes I have ever felt.
Unfortunately, for the 6ATs, your best bet is a stack... a flash only 6AT will get ran on by a piggied and flash car due to one fatal issue that no flash only setup can currently fix.

Yeah, but the cable I'm using belongs to a friend who doesn't use it anymore and it's already VIN locked to three cars... So it's really only good for reading the bin file and flashing.
Nice thing about the OFT is it will log any car so I can do base line and after flash performance logs if anyone in the PNW is interested in getting a quick performance bump. |

from what I hear, the OFT cant log everything defined in the XDF. would make dialing in boost control (mostly throttle closures) a chore, if not impossible. please correct me if im wrong. the BT cable can't do that either; Cobb still reigns supreme in that regard. |
