Once again, he has downpipes. It's in his sig and avatar. Now a custom v2.x map to go with those dp's would be pretty slick.

I would consider you a realist for that statement. No way the 997 is losing that race, even with a half blind midget at the wheel.

Ah crap you're right, those are high 11's low 12's north of 117-121mph... I beat a 996 Turbo, I wish I had gotten a better run though, it was just 0-70, that is a lot of driver...

But honestly, truly guys...The most anticipated and the most popular race is going to be the new E92 M3 going against the V2 335i. Hands down. Thats going to be the most watched video

you have the catted dp and exhaust already..so that's a huge plus...hopefully it's free flowing as possible with very little restrictions....air moving out doesn't seem like it's going to be a big problem...(well nothing would be even better)...
now the intake...NEVER use a new pre-oiled air filter...you run a high risk of even a little bit of the filter oil getting on the sensor and going into limp mode....especially when you run too hard on a new intake set up....greddy/hks mushroom filters usually best and extremely free flowing...you need as much air going in as it is important for the air to go out the exhaust...(i've run with no filters at all in some cases for short sprints..but that's a small risk) temperature...lower temperature is going to give you the best results...typically mother nature determines....but you can change that with a dry nitros oxide kit to the intercooler...(you can use a co2 tank)...but i figure a little nitros oxide in the air wouldn't hurt... good luck...

you can pretty much do a cheap temporary mod...a little 5 pound co2 bottle at any fountain drink distributor..you know..soda..coca cola and pepsi distributor...run a tube to the intercooler...zip tie for temporary install...open the valve (not all the way) before a run and close after.....and it should last long enough for a day of few runs...
good luck again...

Does Gustav (and your competitors) know you will be running a modded 335i? Is everyone required to disclose the mods they have? I guess I don't see the point of this if everyone is just running all kinds of mods without any disclosure.

Sounds like fun! I'm rooting for the OP.
M3 or good ol' 335i... the results are gonna be shitted on by both camps on these same forums anyway...

The videos from those events are sick. They are all over youtube. Search for 'm5board' or m6board'.
They're done in daylight too which I think is a first for home-brewed racing videos

Gustav will make the runs fair.... The main focus of this group is on the E92 M3 so he is not going to pair it against a car that runs with the M5 / M6s.
