mine is a 2007.... members on here who are from the US has done this using these instructions... i dont know what the heck is going on.... as you said, its not a rocket science!

I have a 2007 E90 328i and pulling the plug off the bulb was pretty hard too. With the wire clamp in place, using one hand (if you can fit it in, I could) put some pressure on the bulb where it sits and pull the plug with the other hand. I hope this helps!

Halogen Low beam Bulb Replacement

I did my low beams on my 08 328i a few weeks ago, and using this DIY was so simple and spot on. It actually took me about 10 minutes to complete both bulbs, and that's because I took my time ensuring that I didn't touch the bulbs.
I put OSRAM Sylvania Silverstar (55w. ~4000) in my car, but I originally want the Predator Xenix bulbs. They are rated at 80w, and I am afraid that I will fry my wires so I haven't put them in yet.
The DIY for low beams could not be any easier for the E90 models.

glad that the DIY helped. pleased to hear u took ur time and didnt touch ur bulbs. i did that by accident and ended up having to buy a new pair of lights.

will these bulbs blind the oncoming vehicles?
or are they just the same as oem halogens which the only difference is the white color?

There seems to be two sorts of H7 bulb holder/bracket in BMW 3 series, one with a clip (easier sort) and the other where the H7 actually wedges in the bracket and can only be dislodged by pushing the connector upwards (and in some stuck cases by jiggling it sideways). I'll post the link here any way.

can anyone help me i installed HIDs in my e90 pre lci and everything looks great but my car keeps bringing up error code 88 and 89. i dont know how i can get rid of these codes and its getting really annoying hearing the car beep at me constantly. anyone please help

What lights are you using exactly? Some brands will throw error codes. Let me know, ill try and help you out as best as i can.

Hi, thank you for the detailed writeup. Can anyone explain whether the above DIY applies to my 2006 325i with Xenons?

I have both a Xenon headlamp for night driving and a halogen headlamp w/a halo around it for daytme driving. I paid the dealer $120 yesterday just to replace the halogen daytime headlamp on one side. When the other side eventually goes out, I want to DIY.

While I was waiting, at the parts counter, a customer happened to have a headlight assembly for his car that appeared to be the same as or my car. I asked him and the tech about it. He showed me how the bumper sort of hooks over the lower edge of the headlight assembly, so that removing the assembly requires lowering the bumper.

So, I'm not sure how getting in behind the tire like in the attached photos would access the same area. Can anyone explain this difference and clarify whether the above DIY applies to my 2006 325i with Xenons?

Im pretty sure the Xenons are much different than the halogens... I tried installing angel i brights on my m3 and noticed that the layout is much more difficult to access the bulbs.... I personally didnt fuck with it, and rather let someone qualified do the job lol.

I realize this is old but having just done them on my car, the easiest thing I found to be is do them from the top. Use the little wheel liner door to see what's going on for reference but from above was much better for me. The pass side is easy to star with. Then on the driver side you can pull the air box (change filter while there) and you'll have good access. The other perk is that you can reach both fog bulbs this way too. I did all 8 a front bulbs (high, low, parking light and fog) On the parking light bulbs. You just need to feel around in the high bulb area for a little black tab and pull it out. I find the two tips I'd suggest are, take smart phone and make a video to see how exactly it is so you know where your hands are going and also watch from the front of the light housing so you can see the bulbs go in and out - WAY easier to align. them.

I just replaced my low beam halogens per this thread, had some difficulty removing the plug from the bulb on the drivers side but eventually popped it off. The passenger side was extremely difficult and pulling literally as hard as I could on the plug couldn't get it off. Finally had the idea to try and pry it off and that worked. Using an interior trim tool that is basically like a very flat blade plastic screwdriver got it inserted between the bulb and the plug and by then twisting the screwdriver could create some room and pop the plug off. Thought I would post this because have read several people have similar difficulty getting the plug off and didn't see another suggestion other than "pull hard".

I, for the life of me, CANNOT get the black plug off the bulb. I have tried my fingers and also PLIERS (lol), but it wont come off. I dont want to continue using pliers as Im afraid the surface of the plug has become rigid now and I dont want to further damage it.

Any tips other than pull harder?

When I pull hard, the bulb comes out and then I have to replace the metal harness and start over.

I dropped the back wire clip that holds the bulb in place on my drivers side

Getting to it in the bottom of the bumper seems to be more a hassle than just getting a new one. I looked for it the other day and I think it actually fell out, so now I need to get a new wire clip.

Anyone know the part # on this?

Nvm, Used a magnet to fish it out from my bumper.
