Yes, it is close on the v1.47 up to 100, but I have not seen a stock M6 or M5 get a better 1/8 time. On a good start, the v1.47 335i should immediately start passing the M5/M6.
Here's a relevent post.

Take a look at all of the trap speeds M6 and v2 335i after the 1/4mi. It is a significant difference. If you are used to how the numbers translate to a side by side race, that difference equates to "easily pulling".

Exhaust has nothing to do with the octane.

I have been running 100% torque settings across the board with 91 octane on my car that has a 6AT without any problems. I have had it this way for over a week.

I think he was referring about how you called the n54 engine a high rev engine.

High rev engines would be anything over 8k+

That's the sound I heard when @ WOT @ redline, but to me, it really sounded like it came from the rear of the car (like through an exhaust pipe???). It didn't happen all the time; just a few times, when launching the car like I would at the drag strip and shifting @ redline from 2nd-3rd or 3rd-4th. That was w/ my TQ Curve settings all at 100% across the board (and I run w/ 93 octane). My TQ Curve settings are now at the default v2.0.1 baseline map (but it's still @ 100% at 6,000+rpm)...haven't had time to really test it out again. Hmmm...

I think that PushOK will crank V2 back up to 100% after his larger I'cooler install. He will proll'y need a new accellerator pedal soon also !
WalkedU, is your FMIC fabricator local SoCal?

It's certainly possible to run 100% across the board with 91oct. But the baseline settings are baseline for a reason. And that is we have found them to work well on a wide range of cars in a wide range of conditions. Sometimes, cranking everything up to 100% immediately may not work well with your car's current adaptation settings. I suspect that is what happened with the OP. If you do wish to push things further, add 5% at a time over a few days and see if you can "nudge" your ECU to adapt accordingly. Oh yeah, and make sure everyone who uses your car uses quality premium fuel. I've heard too many stories of wives, girfriends, kids, etc,. not filling up with premium gas or filling up at Costco. It really does happen, despite their claims otherwise

yes I agree 100% with this.

Too many people are getting power mods without upgrading the supporting mods that will strengthen your cars longevity.

Would a upgraded oil cooler be a better choice than a upgraded FMIC?

why not both?

Its like getting velocity stacks without a plenum spacer.

I'm sure they work good by themselves but together you'll see better results.

I plan on doing both, just trying to decide which to do first.

its prolly preference. I myself did intercooler.

you can dump the 1k+ on a front mount, or spend prolly 600 on an oil cooler depndong what size you get and how much they charge you to put it in.

One could always use a little Torco or mix 104 oct unleaded in with the cali crapgas. Like others have said its about the safety margin. To others everything is relative when it comes to knock: Octane, IAT, AFR, Exh. Temps, back pressure, Turbo spool rate, piston /chamber temps, etc. So intakes, downpipes and FMICs will effect knock just like octane.

On my vette I run 91 crap gas with 650 rwhp, but i always use a little methanol and reasonable timing curves to keep it safe.

Just reload up the v2.0.1 baseline map in the PROcede v2 s/w and it will automatically come up at the default settings...verify by opening the TQ Curve settings; then connect to the PROcede.
