The PROcede enleans AFR during cruise conditions. It also adds a bit of timing advance as well. This is where it gets its 2-3mpg bump over stock when driven conservatively (off boost).

Ok...so when on boost with the PROcede, the car runs richer and when off boost while cruising with the PROcede, the car runs leaner, correct?

^^^ Does not know what he's talking about.
JB2 just adds fuel, PROcede adjusts fuel AND timing too. Driven the same, PROcede car will get better gas mileage than JB2 car.

Edit: Oops, should of read the first few responses on page 3 first. I see Shiv chimed in to clear that up already.

Wrong-O buddy, I understand how it works perfectly. I was customizing my Xede (or removing ) when you boys were playing with whatever you had before your 335s. Shiv didn't clear anything up, I already knew that he stated he enleaned the car and added a couple deg of timing. Doing that sort of thing on an Evo at cruising loads will induce knock counts, and with no way to really decipher timing pull on the 335 yet other than the output angles, I'm not so sure I'd be down with that anyway. Me talking about no change in cruise AFRs is in regards to the JB vs stock.

I was not commenting on the TIMING portion of what the procede does, I am talking about the FUELING. I was stating that both the JB and the procede richen the mixture under boost to nearly the exact same AFR.

It appeared to me that the guy I quoted was saying that the JB got worse cruising mileage because it used "fuel to control knock." This is a fairly crude statement but in general every engine ever made does this and it takes more fuel to make more power (everything else being equal, I don't want to hear about going from 9:1 to 11:1, or whatever). None of this has anything to do with cruise or light loads and if the piggyback is in pass through mode in these instances the only differences in fuel economy are from the driver only.
