I seem to having a similar problem to the OP but on an E92.
Car is going in to dealers to be cheeked tomorrow. however because this happens above 70mph they've told me they are unlikely to resolve the issue as they won't test the car above the speed limit (reasonably argument I guess)
Any suggestions????

It's just hit 86,000. Might get that side replaced anyway just to rule it out. That's if the new wheels do not sort it out anyway.

Unsure on fitting cost. But on my e30 I had to remove the exhaust to make it easier.

had a similar thing last week, my rear suspension snapped a bolt some where making the whole rear end very unstable! Luckily BMW sorted it all under warranty!

Doesn't appear so!
Anyway, I called them and asked if I could take a tech out with me and I'll drive - they agreed to that. I just hope a passenger can feel what I am, don't want to be fobbed off cause this could be a matter of safety.

I'll keep you posted!

+ 2. I recently bought a 325 i m sport coupe with 225s and I must say, I have been disappointed in the ride. I had the alignment done within the 1st 3 wks of ownership and all was ok aside of the front ns, which the garage said had no way of aligning. Still no different. I thought it was the combo of wheels and poor shock choice.

Took it to the dealers to assess and they claim all is well, so thought I had to live with it, until I can afford to change suspension. Perhaps some B6s for the future. It does feel like linkage though. When weather improves I will prod. May also be the 19 in R/flats.

I'm thinking guibo as it cant be seen without removing the heatshield so most mechanics probably would not spot it.

idnan suggested it a while ago and I have tried everything else.

Right, had both rear wheel bearings replaced [ probably knackered due to vibrations] and guibo checked, F****** vibration still there, getting highly peed off now!!!

Have you checked the CV joints yet? I had a wobble in my previous car at 75+ mph and spent ages trying to find the cause. The wobble went away after I had to replace a CV joint due to snapping it one day. We also later found that worn top mounts probably caused this whole chain of events by allowing too much movement (they were trashed when we removed them to replace).

Changed wheels, Lowered suspension, both rear wheel bearings replaced , checked Flexi Joint [guibo] .

I am convinced it is in the drivetrain somewhere as it seems to ease off when I accelerate but return when i lift off. This only happens at about 80mph though so im not sure. It has been happening with both sets of wheels so that should rule that out.

Only other thing it could be is a knackered wheel spacer maybe?

Could failing rear shocks do it? Clutching at straws now!

Have you checked the rear control arms/bushes? Subframe bushes?

Squatting on one side points to this.

Along with the guibo there is a centre support bearing that holds the propshaft have you got that checked as well? The Guibo will look fine from the looks but when removed only the actual condition revealed. Had this issue in the E46 and was changed with the centre support bearing.

The following shows the situation.

Thanks for that mate

Just checked with the shop that replaced the bearings, there was no play at all in the centre bearing and the flex disc looked good as new.

in that case the next one is to see the differential bushes and the subframe bushes the propshaft makes it tight till only the rear diff but if the diff or the subframe bushes are shot then that will again come back into the drivetrain?

Rear diff bushes sounds plausible as the vibration is very throttle dependant. Stealers the best place to get these?
