Oh and that new bumper kit CM are working on. The front end looks like an M1 replica?
Everybody on here is getting a right boner over it...... Strange that |

I've been on this forum for a few years and this is how it roughly works.
M Sport drivers are out so get SE drivers. 6 cylinder drivers bully 4 pot drivers whilst M3 drivers kick both their arses. Half the people spend hours justifying why their car is the perfect car for them. Under no circumstances would they consider any other car. They'll be critical of the failings of other models and be quick to point fault in other models when a thread starts. When someone driving a car higher up the model range gives his fair opinion that doesn't match their opinion, the snobbery card is pulled. Drivers carries on and spends fortune on car, then decides for a change. They decide to sell it and puts it up for sale at a vastly inflated price. War world 3 happens as the owner is insulted and everyone is wrong when they give him that advice. Car is then parted out to recover some money before the car is sold. Driver then buys car higher up the BMW range and then tells everyone this is the best decision ever. They become a snob and offer the opinion they'd fought against for long enough. Place calms down for a few months before cycle is repeated. The M3/6 cylinder snobbery card is pulled out way too often on this forum as a defence mechanism. Many of the same people who have done so, have been as guilty for having a go at someone else's car for other reasons. Note all the links to other cars and the clownage thread. Also as my joke above, many of them do end up buying cars that they've spent long enough arguing against whilst justifying their own. As I said though, I'm personally against people modding their cars to look like something they are not. I didn't mean to cause people to get upset about it. I can accept your opinion and you are free to spend your money as you feel fit. Last edited by Kerr; 03-11-2014 at 11:26 AM.. |

Isn't any modification trying to make a car look like something it's not then if what you say stands?
I put LCI headlights on my car and BMWP grilles. Am I trying to trick people into thinking it's an LCI or do I just prefer black grilles and like the angel eyes but can't quite justify the cost of xenon retrofitting? |

Plus, there's a fine line between people on here acting as you say where the justify what they did etc, that's not snobbery imo. It's the folk that literally poo-poo anyone else's choice of engine unless it's a 6cyl or a 335 or whatever.
I've got a 330. I find it quite pricy on fuel and it seems to eat tyres. I like the power tho. My next car will prob be a 520d. I don't feel the need to get a 550i because that's going to be an expensive machine to run. I do to see how snobbery even enters into this bit if someone told me that the 20d was shit because it's lower powered than the 35d or whatnot, I'd just laugh at them. |

Lol, you think this site is bad.
Mention "an enhancement" on the Alpina forum and you'll wake up to a burning cross on your lawn... think I'm joking ?

I think the morale to this is its your car do the mods you want. Your always going to get different answers as people have different opinions hence why everyone's car does not look the same.
Do I care if someone doesn't like a mod I do, no give a **** it's my car I did red on my E92 I'm sure 80% of people didn't like it but I did. One thing I've learned since starting modding is even if I don't like a mod someone has done I now respect it as I know the effort it can take to make it fit spot on. |
