I am looking to replace my rear pads with Akebono Euro's, but Ive noticed when looking around online for them that there are all kinds of different part numbers within this line. I was wondering how to tell the difference between them and how to tell which would best fit my car?

Just curious but did you notice any clicking from your brakes with the Akebonos?
I ran a set for about 5000kms.. got fed-up of the ridiculous noises these pads made and went back to textar. Just my two cents .. maybe mine were defective? I have read other people having similar clicking issues though As for stopping power. They stop just fine once broken in. Textar does give better pedal feel though. On the plus side..minimal mess if any at all. Customer service was very hit or miss. I raised concerns from the get go with minimal support. The seller (rockauto) pointed the finger at Akebono and Akebono right back at rockauto (apparently they aren't an authorized dealer/distributor) |

Finally just switched to Hawk HPS 5.0 and gave away the Akebonos. I miss the low dusting of the Akebonos, but clearly a design or manufacturing issue. |

Just a buyer beware type thing. For those of you that use rockauto. Yes their prices are pretty good. And generally you get some good stuff. Issues arise when you get defective merchandise. Turns out they aren't actually legit distributors for a lot of their stuff. They grab their merchandise from wholesalers. A lot of companies wont honour warranty from things bought from rockauto.
They will occasionally swap things like for like but in the event of these brake pads not working well for the car you are stuck replacing for the same defective part. No refunds unfortunately unless you fight them with paypal like I had to do. Not bashing anyone or any company, just sharing my experience. They charge less for their stuff but misadvertise the warranty you get. |

Don't drive the car much (it's mainly a toy) but I am hard on the brakes when I do. No clicking, squeaking, fading or any other problems with them.

I have had the same setup: akebono ceramic pads front and rear, zimmerman rotors f & r now for almost 40k miles and to be honest, they look as good as new, no rust at all and good break feel still, plenty of pads left and no lip or any grooves on the rotos. Only down side I can say is that when I do autocross (I know these are not meant for autocross applications) are a little spongy for my liking so you need to put a lot of force on the pedal, but all in all the car stops so not a super big deal.
