get the 2008 Z06 Corvette...the best value to performance ratio, period!

The Z06 might be the best supercar value in high-performance automotive history: 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds, 11.7-second quarter mile, 200-mph top speed, and 1.04 g constant lateral grip, according to Chevrolet. These numbers surpass those generated by European sports cars that cost twice as much as the Z06 during clearance sales, and all but a handful of low-volume, $500,000-plus specials built in small workshops around the world. And here's the real stunner: The Z06 does all that with nothing more than a slightly stiff ride on really bad roads when driven around town. There's nothing finicky in this monster. Yet, with impressive EPA mileage numbers of 15 mpg city and 24 highway, the Z06 doesn't even get a Gas Guzzler Tax.

MSRP: $73,220 compared to the 911, you can get this the Z06 and a 335i and modify both of them.

lets not make this a 997 turbo vs z06 debate please. i get enough of those on 6speed and rennlist.

bottom line is a porsche is a porsche, and a chevy is a chevy.
you pay what you pay for. sure the z06 is cheaper and faster, but i mean come on do i really need to go on?

i hope carnage doesnt read this or i will get e-killed.

however, that new corvette coming out (i've heard several names, dont know what is official) will be in a whole different league.

yeah, yeah, yeah...a porsche is a porsche, and a chevy is a chevy...heard that a million times already. my bro-in-law has the 911 TT, and i love the car, but for the money, the vette can't be beat. it's not just about being faster in a straightline...it's also faster on the track. if price was NOT an issue, i'd get the 911...but knowing that money doesn't grow on trees (and I have a mortgage and need save for my kid's college)...i'd get the z06, no questions asked.

I had a 996 TT, and I have a C6 Z06 now. Both are fun. Both are fast. The 996 TT was a LOT more expensive to buy, to maintain, etc.

There's good and bad with both. I had an '03 Evo--TONS of turbo lag. The 335 i had not much, and the Porsche somewhere in between.

The Vette doesn't put you back in your seat like the turbo does at max. boost. However, it pulls for MUCH longer.

Maybe it makes sense to part out gears 3-6 and save a few $.

I've had near-pro level racers tell me that the 997tt is a pain in the ass on the track. The car just doesn't feel nimble and doesn't want to turn.

His comment was, "If the 335i had anywhere near 75% power of the 997TT, it would be a no brainer."

after seeing all these videos, really makes picking the 335i over the c6 vette for my next car so much simpler. it hung in there far better than i imagined. my friend told me he raced a 997tt with his mustang+125shot and the 997tt walked him pretty much off the start.

It must of been fun, but man is the Porsche fast.
In the last run when you hit your 155 gov. he was like 3-4 CL ahead and pulling pretty hard still. Impressive.

I would have thought the P-car would of gotten on boost faster than that.
Can you imagine the acceleration of the Porsche if it could send 100% of it's power to just the rear wheels once in third???

Did you put your stock airbox back on?
Get a K&N and put that in instead and see how the car feels/runs.

Good stuff Sherwin.

BTW, what the heck happened with that M3?? Didn't seem like he was using the bottle because it wasn't even close.
He was on the bottle for sure I walked him as well and saw the bottle myself both when full and is it was getting lower afterwards great guy though. These are his mods.

GTR that is already being sold in Japan and will be here in June is the best value for the money. Out handles and performs z06, has 4 seats, awd, and easy to mod..

Thx bro, just get the kit! I always planned on running W/M Injection since day one, it's another way to keep things cool.

On topic, Sherwins' runs with the 997TT were very impressive, 335I's are impressive NO DOUBT, but I think it put to rest, at least for the moment lol, that a V2 with all the bolt ons is not faster than a 997TT up to 125, however results can always vary.
