Here's a customer support question for you. I have an intake manifold to pressure too high SES light (292E). Does this mean I have a bigger load going in then the ECU thinks it can handle? Shouldnt the PROcede be able to fix this with the tuning capabilities you have currently with v2 (Not asking you to do it.)?

It's interesting to see how quickly a thread can turn into I'm right, your wrong, Shiv knows everything, no he know's nothing. I'm assuming that most of you are analytical and intelligent enough, to read the information presented to you. Keep in mind, it's only an assumption that some of you are smart. Take what you want and leave the rest. No need to fight wars over one mans findings. Discussion's are good, hence the name discussion fourm. Lets try not to insult one an other for differences in opinion, or findings. Personally, I perfer to bring levity to the fourm. Shiv, by the way you owe me a new set of tires for creating a pruduct that produces an irresponsible amount of power and torque, or you can loan me your Gallardo for a week OK

Well im safe im running 91-102 mix at 5500ft and settings on V2 are on 100% no knocking no pinging and not boost over 13.5 PSI think turbos are maxed at this altitude im getting the same boost at settings 96% but the car gets hotter at 100% with the same eventual boost.

Shiv gives us brilliant write ups and is trying to help us understand the engine so we dont kill him every 5 minutes with stupid questions, but in my case i dont think to much research has gone into the procede for high altitude.

I hope one of these large write ups of shivs one day explains to me why i cant get the boost past 13.5 at any V2 setting and am i doing any damage getting my turbos to try so hard by using 100%?

Anyway good write up shiv keep them coming it helps us understand the workings of our engines and that is more than i can say for anyne else on this forum. I dont see anyone else bothering to take hours doing write ups that help eveyone understand their cars better so to the guy that put him down back off i dont see you soing anything to help...

So Shiv,
I have a quesiton:
I just purchased an intercooler...

If I have my stock IC and my boost is high and then I put in the new IC and my boost goes down then it sounds like I'm making the same amount of power whether I get the new IC or use the stock IC.

So, did I waste my money?

I would say no...your allowing your engine and turbos to make the same power w less boost = less stress on the engine. Of course if you want more power it can probably be tuned to get the boost up again and make more hp.

Not necessarily. Without additional tuning, a upgraded IC may have limited merit as far as WOT power goes. But if retuned, the car should be able to run more boost pressure and more timing advance safety. Which means more power

So what you're saying is that people that put Intercoolers on stock cars just wasted their money--Unless of course if all they care about is running all day with little heat soak.

Orb

If it is air, then all we need is T and P, the computer assumes the fluid is air and then the ECU uses an Equation of State that gives the density.

The computer also has to assume the air mixture containing O2 is the same as some reference they deem. So how do they get the O2 levels?

I suspect from the O2 sensor at the exhaust and thn the ECU compensates for actual vs expected for higher altitudes and different opreatign conditions.

We'll maybe see in Part deux.

Need a mod now that gets around the engine limiting power to 300hp.

The intercooler is just a single step of many that have to occur.

You mean like the PROcede, SSTT, or any one of multiple other mods out there?

I'm still learning when it comes to FI cars.
I know a bit, but I obviously don't know that much since I'm asking questions about ICs not doing anything etc.

I'm just really glad I read this because now I'll look even more forward to my custom tune whenever it happens. I'm assuming the custom tune will help a bunch with the intercooler and the DPs combined.
