Go check the stock CP you took off and see if the o-ring is still in there.

Just a quick update. Had a quick opportunity to race another n54 335xi. E90 that was stock. Both of us had passengers. I raced on map 1....same result. He beat me. The catch is that I went ahead and switched to map 0. The result was exactly the same. Actually, I would say he pulled less on me on map 0. Lol

Did you ever check your CP to see if the o-ring is still in there?

The o-ring is still on your old charge pipe? If it is, then you didn't take it off and put it on the new one and you have a moderate boost leak.

I have an n55 currents mods are: 7" fmic, er cp, bmw full pe, bms intake, 93oct... I was running map 1 for a while before I got my cp than went to map 5 than got curious one day and tried map 2
![]() note: I noticed that on n54tech they updated the map guide for the n55 stg 2 and it no longer mentions needing a dp for map 2.. weird.. i could be wrong but check out map guide on the official jb4 n55 thread on n54tech ![]() |

Ok, well the CP is secure on the engine for sure. The o-ring is in good shape and all the clamps are pretty tight as well as the tmap sensor. Car seems to hold boost better, and it doesn't fluctuate that much, but the car doesn't feel THAT much quicker if you know what I mean. Is the boost supposed to taper down to just above 10psi as the rpms go up? Is there a possibly there's a boost leak somewhere else?

By the way, I also hear that down pipes don't help as much with n55 as with n54 but these are questions maybe good for terry or someone with expertise.

I know. It's horrible. Especially coming from a car that would build power all the way to 8700rpms lol
I'm trying to log on jb4, but I can't find the software I need to download to do logs. I put some e85 in the car and it's running a bit stronger, but I'd like to see numbers. |
