Did you have them fitted? Thanks mate. Should be done and dusted tomorrow apart from the corner weighting and alignment. |

No. And I recently changed to a lower rate front spring and, once wiped clean, the original springs were pristine. If they were binding when turning (which the thrust sheets are supposed to prevent) I would have expected to see evidence of metal-to-metal contact and the paint having rubbed off...

Just at home waiting for the call. They have pretty much done the install. Now just need to go there and do some corner weighting and alignment.
For alignment i'm thinking: Camber: -1.5 or the max i can get, and -1.75 rear Toe: Zero front and 1mm rear Can't wait to get it back. |

It is set on 10 clicks from full stiff front and rear. Initial thoughts are that it feels like a rolls royce compared to stock! Obviousky it isn't but thats just the feeling. Very comfortable and forgiving when cruising. I can glide over bumpy roads with a lot more speed than before. It used to bang and bottom out before. I also ran out of patience and pretty quicky tried out a few fast corners. It felt so flat/firm and there's very little hint of any roll. I felt a bit of oversteer, but i could control it with no dramas unlike stock. Which is strange as i wouldn't have expected coilovers to help in that regard. Maybe thats to do with the alignment. Whatever it was it was a nice suprise but overall it really does feel like a whole different car! I think i'll be driving a lot more tonight just don't want to get stopped I'll get pics up tomorrow and post some more thoughts. Think i might wait a week before playing with the damping. |

Thanks mate, it felt like ages!
I'm happy with the drop too. I got it set at the Ohlins recommendations and it looks like a nice little drop, just what it needed. Not too much. Over speed humps it feels like the car is on a massive cushion, especially when the rear of the car comes back down after the hump. Then on high speed corners (70mph) it stiffens up and is so flat. On M Sport suspension with these types of corners, there used to be some roll before the spring resisted compression and the car settled, but on these springs its pretty much instant Think i realise what people mean about linear springs now. I will have a go at trying different damper settings but at 10 it feels perfect for comfort and performance, but i'll find out when i try other settings. Might try 15 and see what that does. Phil, what settings from full stiff do you use for your daily drive? Have you ever tried 1? Can't wait to try it at stiffer settings on the track. |
