Called on the '12 blue with oyster sport...just out of curiosity to see what they marked it up to. Sold within 10 hours for $33k...that's a pretty spectacular margin on a car they sourced for $20k.

My money says the '11 in boston with 40k miles (https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/ct...371299703.html) shows up at EAG within two weeks for $32ish...

EAG said there were 2100 total manual e91's in the US; 429 total e91 manual M-sports 09-12. Considering I've owned two of those over the years, it makes me hate my decision to sell both even more.

It really makes one wonder who in the world buys a car like this from EAG. They did almost nothing to it, dollar-wise, to flip it right away. If the BMW dealer had offered it at $33k, it would have sat there forever; heck, if they offered it at $25k it probably would have sat there forever. EAG buys it for $18-20k, quick polish, spend less than $1k on a few things, and out the door for $33k.

your first issue is you are believing EAG. I find it very hard to believe that car with 60k+ miles sold for 33k. Manual swaps are not THAT expensive folks. If you are buying these cars thinking they will gain value over the years you are taking a huge gamble on that. I would bet otherwise tbh.

Entirely possible that the owner was embellishing on the sale price...trying to make the RWD they still have on hand seem a better value at $31k. Even if they sold the blue e91 for $28k though, its still a quick and healthy margin. EAG told me they put $5k into preventative maintenance and cleanup on that vehicle, which I found hard to believe...as they probably just fixed any oil leakage from the valve gaskets, etc on the N52.

I agree with CSBM5 - WHO is buying these cars for such inflated prices?? Are people really that uneducated that they don't follow the market and see that these cars were $10k cheaper only a few weeks prior to ending up in Ohio? At the end of the day, I cant knock the EAG hustle...who wouldn't love to make a living sourcing rare BMW unicorns and flipping them for huge profits? Constant thrill of the chase...just unfortunate that people are silly/lazy enough to pay their asking prices.

I don't think many people outside of EAG are looking to buy e91 unicorns to flip them or see pristine low-mileage examples appreciate in value - after all, these are not E30 M3's. I guess whatever the market is willing to pay for these in-demand manual wagons will dictate prices as fewer and fewer of them will end up for sale in the future when people keep them and drive them into the ground.

They greatly inflate their "work order" using MSRP or higher parts prices and retail labor rates - both far in excess of what they put into the car. They've been called out numerous times on the M5board about huge claims for "work orders" on E39 M5s that simply are insanely overpriced.

For those looking for a 6MT E91, you can be absolutely certain EAG is subscribed to and monitoring this thread.

Absolutely assuming the EAG team is subscribed - its their livelihood, and there are only so many tools available for scouring postings. That is the double-edged sword with this thread - as awesome as it is to see all the long-roof camaraderie going on for this dying breed, we are also potentially uncovering leads for dealers to flip. Of course, anyone seriously in the market is probably not going to be broadcasting leads they may have on this thread..but for everyone else, its great to share rare finds in hopes that fellow wagon enthusiasts can find their ideal E91.

I am 3 hours away.

It's 160k miles. It would reach nearly 200k miles after couple years. who would want to touch 200k miles car if you want to sell? if you get rear ended, insurance company will low ball you crazy too.

Same guy that would consider one with 160k?

My DD land cruiser has 190k, I plan to sell it at 225k

There is a guy here selling a wagon with 150k for $11k with ridiculous wheels and tail lights. It'll likely sell too.

There is a user here, efthreoh; he's got an n52 with over 300k. I'm honestly not phased with mileage on a car that's been maintained as opposed to picking up a car with "low" unverifiable mileage.

yeah there is a guy selling 2007 328i auto with 65k miles for the same price near him.

the carfax only showed 2 records for the mileage.

So it is hard to believe.

A 40k mile Sport Package MT Xi came up this morning on Cars.com in Newton MA. Ad already taken down. (Outside of Boston so I'm not sure if it was the Craigslist car that CSI posted as that ad was removed too.) But I called the dealer and he said he "bought it cheap and offered it cheap" ($19,500) selling it yesterday 11/3 to someone "out of state". He said he did not know who it was as one of his salesman sold it. I am praying that someone on this site bought it and not EAG. We'll see. Silver/Black. VIN WBAUU3C5XBA950908

That was the one referenced above in the Craigslist ad...sold within a day. Low miles and sport package - halogens and pretty bare bones other than that.

Well, just in case of that... EAG can EAD.

"Price gouging enthusiasts" more like it, feeding off people who like cars but might not have time to scour postings and then they put too much faith in these profiteers.
