E90 Sports wheel
Hi there, newbie here.I wanna replace the standard steering with the M tech version. Anyone can advise how to remove the multifunction connectors on both sides? I tried to pull them off but they seem to be tight in position and there is no 'slots' to insert a watchmaker to pry out the connectors. Any kind soul can advise? Many thanks

Thanks Bavarian19 for the great DIY! I just completed my swap to the M-Sport Perforated Steering Wheel and everything worked without a problem.

Great write up! Followed the instructions exactly and took about 45 min for the install. Installed the M3 tri stitched which is installed exactly the same way.

Props to the originator of this thread! Bought a CPO 330i in which the previous owner wore out the black color of the steering wheel to the bare SKIN! I'd expect that in a car with over 100K, but not 24K. Followed the DIY steps to install an M-tech wheel in less than an hour. Now it feels like I'm driving my M5 again!

getbmwparts says Part number 32307906846 was superceded by part number 32307839114.

So i have done this mod successfully on my 328 e92 MT , and just picked up a 335 auto sedan with paddles today. The thing is, i dont really want the pedals, can i simply get a m wheel without paddles, and not put the paddles back in ? (vs having to buy one with the cutouts etc) will that work, anyone done this ?

I'm going from the standard wheel to the m-tech- so i dont think my old wheel has this screw. I've got the new connecting line cable- perhaps its in there. Also, i've purchased a new airbag- does the airbag mounting bracket come with it? Thanks |

If you're wheel doesnt have the screw and grounding point. Find a screw at hardware store and u can fabricate the grounding pin with a speaker terminal crimp on available radioshack, pepboys etc. good luck

It's pretty confused..
I have e90 2007 320cp
I've bought steering wheel, airbag module and coil spring cartridge.. 1)Steering wheel w/ paddle shift (Part No. 32306777631) 2)Airbag module (Part No. 32306770515) 3)Coil spring cartridge (Part No. 61316989557) I want these paddle working as OEM. So I took the 2 cable lines from gear box to fit in coil cartridge. Picture below is coil cartridge and steering wheel cable. I assume that red- marked green plug which came from the steering wheel has shift up/down signal. but my coil cartridge doesn't have pins for that..Instead there's only two plastics.. should i buy another coil cartridge? or... what should i do? |

Hey, quick question here... So if I am going from non-sport steering wheel -> m-tech... do I still have to go through the steps of removing the airbag and stuff? Or is there anyway to just remove the whole non-sport steering wheel and put on my m-tech steering wheel? Thanks.
