How much whp can the stock motor hold before things go BOOM?

Are these results with FULL bolt on + new turbos and no injector and fuel pump upgrade?

AWD

bump for any news on N55

The stock turbo seems to be a real limitation on the N55 cars so very interested in your possible upgrade on the N55

just give it few weeks before you pull the trigger. I'm still waiting for Vishnu Meth kit to ship out. I'm not sure how soon they will release about their Fuel Pump upgrade but seems like they are near the completion...hopefully I will take it to same dyno shop to do another runs.

I heard from Mike at AWD - No progress yet on their upgraded N55 turbo. They are still looking for a core to use for development purposes. If anyone knows of a used N55 turbo or can make theirs available please let Mike know.

Well isn't AWD in the business of making turbos?? wtf??...why not make a business investment and just get a new unit from Tischer or something and use that...why waste all this time waiting on someone's damaged core?? I don't get it

sounds like an excuse. you can get the real units for pretty cheap from tischer

Turbocharger - 2011 - $1,926.26

they'd make back the cost easily by selling one

they have a weird concept of how R&D works. I offered my turbo (I'm local to them) to them back in December. They would have recovered their r&d costs by now and making some nice profits.

The awd turbos are garbaaage...look at these dynos. These were taken only about a couple weeks apart at MachV's dyno in Northern VA. Mine is on the top(the downpipes are AR and the exhaust was AA, Dan messed up the description). And this wasnt even my best run....After I put the HPF exhaust on and ran the v5 i made 408whp and 455wtq at 16-17psi WITHOUT meth! This guy with the AWD turbos is running meth and Dan told me he was running 18-19psi. This is directly from Dan at MachV's youtube page...as I said before. This AWD upgrade is a waste of $$. So much for the turbos speaking for themselves huh?? Take some notes from Rob Beck..

Car on bottom was mine. I was having issues with my procede at that time but car is running butter smooth now. I had a lot of boost oscillations. Also to note my car is an auto and xi. All and all I'm happy with them finally. I will be dynoing again since all issues with procede are ok now. Car Def feels much better than my stockers did. I'm sure the rbs put down more but for me these Def satisfy my hunger. My cars running much better than that dyno as posted above now. I will update just haven't had time.

I can confirm that he was having issues with his car. He's been working on fixing it since then and might have done just that. He put down 430awhp recently on 18-19psi but he is a 6AT XI so he has more loss than you. I'm not defending the AWD turbos by any means because I know very little about them but I do know Jeremy and he speaks the truth. We all know that RB's are better, I don't think that's even in question anymore.

I def. know the differences btwn AT and MT, its very minuscule. As for the awd vs rwd its also very miniscule. So we are talking maybe 5-15whp. I am just stating that with methanol and 2-3psi higher I would easily make 425-430whp. I am not trying to bash his car at all, only the turbos. I feel that AWD just tried to pump out a set of turbos to meet the demand without fully researching or even testing their claims. I would like to catch up with you northern Va guys and see how my car compares when I get this meth kit working and I get these new wheels/tires on. I just dont understand why the AWD turbo'd car and many other n54's dont put down as much tq as mine does. Makes me really hopeful to see what kinda power it will make when I get my RB's in the mail. I also want to dyno my car again with a working meth kit and the new 3-30 maps. The car is running better than ever and Im sorry if I sound harsh but the AWD upgrade just doesnt seem like its a good bang for the buck like they preached. I am interested in what your numbers are with your tune worked out. Let me know when you want to go to the dyno and I will try and meet you there.

The difference of an AT and AWD at 400+whp compared to a MT and RWD will be far more than 5-15whp. It is physics. More parasitic loss.

As for power...the n54 will only make so much power. At a point the gains become much smaller incrementally towards the top end of the RPM range and turbo efficiency (higher boost). If you made 400whp off meth it just means you baseline higher. I only made 399whp fbo (but stock exhaust) with meth. But I baseline sub in the 260whp that day. All this competition between the same cars is slightly futile as we all have the same setup (stock turbos for those of us that are on them) and just different hard parts but barring any horrid designs they all flow the same.

Jeramie's car is fun to go in. We've made many a chipotle run. Are the AWD turbos great? No. Do they increase efficiency in the top end? Yes. Enough to warrant the price? Thats up to the consumer. If Jeramie upgraded to RB's I would have no problem pondering replacing my siren / whining stockers with those just to not hear mine cry. Would I recommend them to anyone? Probably not. Thats about the review I would give them. I know what I would be willing to pay to gain the efficiency bump in the upper RPM's - but I dont think AWD would sell them to me at that price point.
