Yes, covered calls are def the way to go on an individual instrument basis. In a vacuum GE is a fine stock....a mutual fund onto itself in some ways.

I dabbled in options for a while but got destroyed because I got gready. I do want to start selling covered calls again as I think this is the way to go. If you get called out, so be it. If not, it is a stock I would want to own anyway and can keep the premium and buy more. I do overall tend to take an aggressive approach to investing. I just threw $20k of my 401K into SCHWAB TARGET 2040. I normally don't like doing this but I felt like I needed a fund with some fixed-income securities and money market funds. It's boring but hopefully a nice mix since I am so international heavy


Edit: I do not own GLD but always think about it

im starting to get back into it, my dad is all about it he has a great profolio, i wish i was money savy like him
