Seeing these results has made me actually consider selling, but I can’t think of anything comparable to replace it with. And it would be impossible to ever replace it.

I'm in the same boat.

2011 m sport/rwd/6mt/77k miles +++

This past auction has me considering selling or getting insured through Hagerty!

I just love the car though. Smile every time.

BAT e91 numbers are crazy at moment - half-trying to convince my buddy to sell his 2012 e91 alpine 6MT, M sport, single hump, RWD - plus rare OEM euro alcantara/cloth sport interior (manual/heated)...oof.

I really don't want him to sell but man, even with 77k on the clock I bet this thing would break the internet. Would be surprised if it went for anything that doesnt start with a '4' with the current market. Crazy to think he bought it for 27 all in from a member on the forum last year...things have really escalated!

Same boat here with my RWD 6MT M Sport which is what prompted me to post last week.

RE: 1600veloce - flippers like him do NOTHING for the enthusiast community. His business model is to buy cars and flip them. Simple as that.

He buys cars at auction or privately then dry ice blasts if they're from the rust belt/north east, has a really good detailer, performs little to no maintenance, and his business partners at BaT list his cars within a few weeks to a few months of acquiring them.

He uses a professional photographer yet all of his underbody shots of the car are dark and hard to see anything clearly (rust, oil leaks etc), and doesn't provide paint depth readings.

Yes, folks have sold cars on consignment and have had a good experience with him but he's just extracting cash out of these cars. Quite literally a few percent of the 6MT E91s in circulation flow through his brief ownership every year.

There's nothing wrong with being a car dealership (that is not transparent), but folks on this forum and BaT are kidding themselves when they think otherwise.

GMS wagons was an awesome dealership that specialized in wagons and they legitimately restored the cars, added desirable OEM mods, etc. EAG at least offers paint readings, history on the car, and have a shop that provides value to the community. 1600 does none of these.

To each their own but I'd never buy a car directly from him. My 2 cents.

Who bought this one? It sold an hour after posting...

Also, 1600veloce can suck it. People like him and the auction sites in general are making me less and less of an enthusiast by the day. I'm ready to sell my e91 and e70 and forget this world.

Everyone historically hates on EAG for price gouging and lately, 1600Veloce in this niché e91 market, but at the end of day both have made a successful process out of flipping a highly desirable product. Yes, they may be contributing to the overall ridiculous asking prices in this market, but the market determines the price - and we continue to patronize their products, soooooo… 🤷🏻*♂️

As these e9x cars are widely believed to be the pinnacle of ‘old bmw’ before the magic was lost and manual wagons killed off stateside, of course prices are going to continue to go up. I think we can all agree most of these rare e91 examples are being driven into the ground by enthusiasts that know they’re amazing and reliable SUV alternatives as daily drivers…classic low supply and growing demand.

Regarding these dealers, as the saying goes, “Don’t hate em because you ain’t em.” Also, it seems that the vast majority of folks who own e91s on both this forum and BAT seem to derive great enjoyment with each new BAT auction yielding a ridiculous sale price, making them feel like their asset continues to appreciate. Can’t have it both ways unfortunately…

I'm with you. I'm rather looking for a cheap 2nd e91 to hand onto or scavenge, tbh

Wild result, good for you.

I remember in the early Covid days I bought my E90M for $38k. 1 owner, competition, 51k, mint condition and most people said I was crazy to pay that much.

It's staggering to think what a 328 with some extra boot space fetches. I loved the idea of finding an E91 with 2 kids but going from an M to a modded 335 I don't think I'd ever be able to handle the drop in power anymore. At least these prices make me not have to worry about impulse buying one anymore. 😂

The vin is showing a much different car when ran.

I thought I would chime in with my BaT experience. Car is officially gone and probably at it's new home by now in Birmingham, Alabama. Overall, I couldn't be more pleased with the result, but it definitely was a lot of work to get it there.

From one enthusiast to another, I share your frustration with the exploitation of the E91 market. It can also be discouraging because it feels like there's an unfair advantage amongst sellers, since the wagon before mine was featured on Car and Driver—which I believe is partners with BaT—and that car had almost double the views and 200 more watchers compared to mine. At the end of the day, business is business and I get that.

Regardless, my overall experience selling on BaT is very positive, and hopefully my car can be a data point for other enthusiasts that may be looking to sell. I'm be more than happy to share some of what I've learned, so feel free to reach out if you want.

I’m not sure exactly. I really equate the “lightweight” to being light on options ) But maybe 200 lbs. would be nice if USA offered slicktop.

It was probably featured as 1600Volece has numerous sales and BAT uses marketing data to good use.

Black cargo cover in DC for $190 if anyone needs one. I feel like I saw this ad and posted about it a year ago... maybe it never sold.

I scooped this one up! Actually bought it for my mom, haha. Managed to snag it for $11k. The salvage was a concern, but it came with VERY detailed photos of the rebuild and showed before damage. It truly was 100% cosmetic and the car is CLEANNNN. Excited to have another e91 in the family. The deep red on saddle really pops and looks great next to my LMB Msport. Not to mention it was rwd with sport package! $11k seemed like a solid buy on something with this much documentation.

@[4 Doors], I spoke to the guy. Seems like a nice guy. Unfortunately, car doesnt have too many options and the rebuild was done by someone on the west coast. Not sure if it will sell for that asking price either.
