I would not worry much.
The oil temperature will climb to 120C - 130C in hard conditions, but the manual states that the cooling system only enters protection mode at 150C and a cluster warning will display only once reached 156C. Apparently the N54 tries to maintain 108C temp in the cylinder head for efficiency. |

Bigger turbos can move more air volume with less heat/friction. |

Lets look at the engine from a thermodynamics perspective as a device that converts fuel into energy at a particular efficiency. If you increase the engine's power output by x%, unless you increase the efficiency of the engine by x% the vehicle will definitely be producing much more waste energy as heat.

That's the factory oil temperature by design. It needs to be at least 100 for any residual water in the oil to evaporate quickly. Mine's always 110 when fully warmed up and doing anything more than very light driving.

Hit the dyno at springy when you're done with the install. You already have your baseline at 280rwkw (from memory) good luck - will be a beast |

Regarding the radiator, I've investigated these options also (as I'm DCT) and we are cooled the same way as AT's. The lower section of the radiator is actually used to cool the transmission fluid, and after researching options, CSF seem to have the best and most economical option available for AT/DCT radiator which will deliver both engine/coolant and transmission advantages. CSF also now have a local Australian presence with a great rep in the States. I was toying with the idea to introduce a dedicated transmission cooler on the passenger side vent (where the AUX radiator would be located for the PPK), however I believe this radiator upgrade will be sufficient. A member named AUbeast created some well crafted and thought out adapters to introduce a trans cooler relatively easy. |

If the answer is JB4, then enlist the tuning services of David (Trebila) who is the tuner of my vehicle as well as the x2 135's that are >400kw on this forum. All of which are running JB4/MHD stacked. |

Have you driven it yet? I'm guessing you need a custom MHD tune for it as well?

RBs, VTT inlets, Mod CPD, PCV upgrade and OCC installed !! Pulls hard but definitely needs a custom tune!! The tial BOV has doubled in volume when it vents (do you think Ill need a stiffer spring) and there is a chirping sound (like a bevy of woodland creatures) from the turbos followed by this massive gunshot/unholy scream from the exhaust when stomping on the gas. Lags a bit more then stockies but pulls much harder.. have not had a chance to really give them a run due to peak hour traffic but I think a custom tune is needed and the weird woodland creature BOV/turbo chirping needs an explanation.. Ill try to get an audio clip of it and post it ..... Any suggestions on what to do next would be appreciated Crappy photos attached Last edited by Socket; 11-19-2015 at 03:40 AM.. |

Nice one Socket - good to hear the install went well. For now you should probably just organise a custom map from Ken at Wedge since you are running MHD. They are super responsive and should have you sorted quickly. They will send you a base map for the RBs then tweak it from there. You could go stiffer springs but there are pros/ cons with that too, which you could find threads on the forum
If you are going PI then maybe you could consider JB4 with a backend flash again from either Wedge or BMS. I think the stacked setup works better with PI controlling boost and fuel, but there are different views |
