Regrinds appear to not produce any extra power even when mechanically retimed to cancel the ground in advance.

So that kills Valvetronic afaic. That means a complicated N54 cam conversion to the head or a swap to an S54. Might drop in some MILVs for the time being.

M3 steering rack is going in w/o Servotronic connection. And AKG Motorsports now has 75D polyurethane trans mounts so ordered a set since they're trivially easy to install.

Going to flush brake fluid and change oil before the shop completes the work with inspection/emissions.

That’s just not right. You can’t list all those mods, many of which I’ll be googling to find out what they are... and then not post a single pic!

Need pics please!

There’s lots of pics in this thread of the various mods but I should have been more clear. I would like to see a pic of the car in its entirety (and element... on track) if you have any. I actually went though about 15 pages of this thread last night and couldn’t find any pics showing the whole car.

I’m curious to see the whole car from below (what the undercarriage looks like with all the extra bracing) and how the car looks as a whole. If there’s a page on this thread with pics showing the whole car in it’s current state of mod, well tell me which page lol. Thanks!

Also you are running the stock transmission right (internals I mean, I see you swapped shifters, etc). Have you had any issues with the transmission? And how much power are you putting through the transmission? (Have you dyno’ed your motor recently?)

When I started my build I did some googling. Our manual transmissions are rated for a max input torque of 260 ft/lbs. Seems like some of these built N/A motors could potentially meet (or get close) to that threshold, and with F/I they would easily exceed it. I’m still new to this platform and I’m wondering how the transmissions hold up to added power and track abuse.

ATI Performance custom Super Damper
Any more details on this? Part number? How much? Make another?

We put Redline in the 6MT and it has worked great since. Had a slight noise going into one of the gears- now completely gone and quiet.

the 328i comes with the GS6-17BG, which is rated for lower torque - you could get a GS6-37BZ from a 330i, which is a stronger transmission.

Only bracing is the Ultra Racing parts that are shown somewhere, not worth looking at honestly. And a picture of the whole car is shown here and there, it looks pretty much like a stock 328i, same pictures are on the BMW Garage location here, too. There are no other pictures. How there would be pictures on-track though is a mystery.

Stock transmission is more than good enough for what this engine can produce with bolt ons. I'd be surprised if the torque ever got anywhere close to 260lb-ft.

And this transmission will get replaced with a drop-in Samsonas dogbox eventually anyway so it's of no concern.

ATI Performance custom Super Damper
Any more details on this? Part number? How much? Make another?

We put Redline in the 6MT and it has worked great since. Had a slight noise going into one of the gears- now completely gone and quiet.
Running Redline in the trans for along time now. Solid flywheel with solid hub friction discs and there's unavoidable gear rattle at idle, fluid will have zero effect. And the Super Damper is there to reduce vibration at low rpms due to solid engine mounts.

FWIW there are a few other pictures on this thread -- http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1010510 -- but mostly older stuff that's been removed or replaced by now.

FWIW, an N52 head is off to be flowbench tested and optimized. Should be interesting.
