Due a new phone on my contract and the only one I can get for free (due to being a cheap skate) is the Samsung i5700. Anyone know how well it works with the car? If I upgrade via one of the stores I can't take it back.

Updated 2.1 Android Sprint HTC Hero works fine, but worth noting, it appears they've added a checkbox in the connection screen "Trusted Source" that, if not checked, will make the connection cycle on and off.

330i and HTC Desire

Has anybody got any suggestions how to cure this without scrapping either the Desire or the 330i (since I like them both)! Roger |

Nexus One running Froyo 2.2 works great
I've been using it for about a month on my '09 E90 and all functions are working.
Same goes for steering wheel commands and so on...just FYI |

I just had time to check the Samsung Captivate (Galaxy S) on my E92 M3 and I'm happy to report synching was a piece of cake and it downloaded my address book in about 30 seconds. Everything is working great!

TMobile G2 -> Flawless!
Actually, any Android device will work perfectly because Android supports PBAP Bluetooth profile since v 1.6.

Samsung Focus i917
I just recieved a Windows Mobile 7 phone
It is a Samsung Focus i917. Also tried the HTC Surround and the LG, all worked and tried them right in the AT&T parking lot. Paired flawless -- full contact list, call list etc. All BMW features working without a hitch |

VZW Moto Droid Pro - won't pair. Says passcode is wrong. I have 3 handsets paired. Tried different 4 and 5 digit passcodes. Have paired Nokia e61, bb 7130, pearl,tour, bold 9650, wife's old featurephone, and our two iPhones at various times - if it's me, not clear what I'm doug different.

Glad to see that WP7 has built in PBAP profile! That's the first redeeming feature about that platform that I can find useful!

My SA then tried to pair my DG2 to several vehicles he had on the lot - no dice. So, I think it is safe to conclude that the new versions of the Moto Droid line on VZW do not play nicely with the BMW bluetooth system.

This is not correct. There are many reports on these boards of users with Android OS devices that won't pair at all, or have only limited functionality.

My E92 is Wired but I would need to get BT installed. Just used it in a loaner during maintenance drop off. And I must say the phone part is sweet and amazingly clear on both ends of the call.
What imcouldnt get was Bluetooth audio playback. Is that not a possible feature or is coding needed? I've got an iPhone 4. |
