just go buy a 1st gen Simota CF intake... why waste $70 on just a filter when you can get the whole intake lightly used for like $150-$200 with the filter on it? Its incredibly simple to put on and its not something the stealership will normally give you shit for when you take it into service... hell even my guy at Laurel of Westmont complimented me on it and said just make sure I wash the filter every 6 months or so.

who do u talk to over at westmont? there was an asian guy who was cool. he saw the e90 sticker and was im on there too. said he drove a older m5. good guy. but ryan burton is awesome in service dept

If it's a K&N you can wash and re-oil it and it will be like new.

Me too. Getting impatient though. One thing I def want to get done. Anyone know of a place to do this? Ken told me a while back that he paid around $100 or so.

reoiling is that bad u just soak it in water let it air dry then put a couple lines of the filter oil on it. time to watch some dexter, good fucking show

The filter I had was used for about 3-4 months. I'll bring it to the meet if you want to check it out.

about the trim- i chatted with a member on here that got it done. he said he took it to some tint shops by his area and they refused to do it. the shops would not touch it since they don't really have experience nor the material to do this. and he also took it to the dealership who said the trim would need to be removed ($$ bs). so he ended up taking it a shop the tint place recommended, he ended up using the shops vinyl which is supposedly thicker (he said a lot of products out there tend to curl and not adhere- another reason tint shops wouldnt put it on if you bring your material) - everything including material and installation was 150 for him- but he said theres some places that are doing 75 for groups of 4 or more cars, these are by his area though. sorry for the lengthy post today.

so what i'm saying is that we should try and find a reputable shop (maybe even fluid) who have done this before- and maybe we could even get a pretty generous deal because i know a lot of you guys are up for it.. rather than buying material we have no idea about in large quantities and running around finding a shop that would do it.
