Spent the day doing chores and working on the E30. Reading up right now so I can drop the exhaust, driveshaft, and transmission tomorrow morning. The pelican DIY says it's 8/10 difficulty.

Haha, after looking at some videos and more DIYs, it's probably easier to lift the the engine+tranny out as a unit rather than trying to break the torque on those hard-to-reach bolts. I'm just about done freeing the engine from everything else under the hood now. Exhaust, driveshaft, shift linkage next. Then onto the real fun.

i hope you have the bently manual. it took two of us to lower the tranny onto a jack and it was not pretty trying to jack it back up into the right spot. props to you if you're doing it yourself.
