Another shot from the plane. These crop irrigation circles went on and on for miles.

Great sunset shot Mark, but that 'Crop Circles' shot is just amazing. I've never seen anything like it !
With the 'summer' weather we're having here just now, there's certainly no need for artificial irrigation. I've never seen everywhere so green at this time of year. A great thistle shot Dave.

Here is a sunset shot with my Canon 100 - 400 zoom, an incredibly versatile lens.

Agreed. Very cool shot.
Nice shot, DC. I'm more convinced than ever that long FL lenses can produce better "macro" type shots due to the deeper DoF combined with great bokeh. My best insect and flower shots were all taken with my long lenses.

Did you just add your last name to your Flickr account?? I swear that I looked there yesterday and didn't see it.

Still lots of snow on top of the mountains, much more than normal this time of the year.

Summer seems to have returned to Northern Scotland !
Blue skies, lighter winds, no rain and a wee bit warmer today. First time for a couple of weeks. There are some poppies growing wild on a building plot next to my house, and as the weather was better, I tried to isolate one bloom against a blue sky, using my 100-400 at 400mm. My babies.
I've had this cactus for decades and only within the past 6 years did it decide to flower. One is the "Mother" and could be ~20 years old and came from a cactus which my sister got in the 70's. Hers was the only survivor. I've occasionally gotten a flower on it but never more than one. This year there were five and we were very surprised. The flower lasts only two days and from just a nub on the cactus to an actual flower takes about a week. From the base of the flower to the tip is about 8" and you can almost watch it grow.

Mark and I went out shooting yesterday and today with some good luck. Here's a Bullock's Oriole that I got. I think Mark got some good hummingbird shots.

This meadowlark image was shot from Dave's famous M3 blind. Again, Dave, my appreciation for your hospitality and outstanding guide skills.

I'm back in the kittens again, have had three for a few weeks now and one is a black fluff.
Fun times.
