question for you park....

Have a e46 that i'm trying to sell outright after getting 335. Has been sitting in the garage for about 3-4 weeks without being driven. Decided to put it on cars.com and try a little harder than ksl.com.

Started it to take it for a bath...and it ran terrible for 3 or so minutes and popped a check engine light (that wasn't on 3 weeks ago). Any ideas? And what's it going to cost me to get that code read/reset.

Just hope its nothing major cuz i'm sick and tired of trying to sell that old thing.

oh...and it ran perfect after the 3 minutes...like nothing is wrong. Maybe some crappy older gas??

Youre probably right. Bad gas, caused misfire faults. Sitting for a long time will also cause some startup issues that can store misfire faults.

so it probably just needs to be reset. Will be tough to sell a BMW with a CEL lit.

mine was a 03...auto though. Had some fun playing around with it...some clear lenses, LEDs, aluminum pedals. Great highway car, just went.

Sold it to my brother...and he managed to total it out about 6 months ago. Held up well vs. a honda pilot.
