Jaguar is seemingly sprinting full speed ahead to meet its goal to become an all-electric brand by 2025, as promised back in February of 2021. It’s three remaining internal combustion cars, the E-Pace, F-Pace, and XF Sedan, will end production by June of this year. The automaker’s I-Pace crossover is also ending production by the end of 2024, which could leave Jaguar without any cars to sell until the electric models are released mid-2025.
Jaguar promises we will see the new grand touring car before the end of this year. The model will then be available for sale by mid-2025, with the second electric model arriving in late-2025, and the third in 2026. When Jaguar teased the EV GT in April 2023, the "indicative pricing" was hinted to be set at around £100,000, which equates to approximately $127,000 at today's exchange rates.

Considering Jaguar's I-Pace issues, It may be time to short Jaguar's stock. The great mark that provided us with disc brakes, the timeless Jaguar E-Type, great racing heritage going out with a hmmmmm.
Time to say goodbye to Jaguar

More than half of all new cars should be electric by 2030, according to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). But the auto giant Toyota doesn't want to follow suit, believing that a maximum of 30 percent of new registrations will be electric cars.
In a conversation with the magazine Automotive News , Toyota's US boss, Tetsuo Ogawa, explains how the company wants to position itself in the electric car sector in the US. The focus, he suggests, should primarily be on customer demand, not on regulatory requirements.
For the EPA to reach its goal of over 50 percent electric cars, the government is planning penalties for high CO2 emissions. Ogawa, however, considers the prescribed target unrealistic and therefore might produce fewer electric cars than required. Instead of over 50 percent, the automaker might only reach 30 percent. From 2030 on, this could be associated with high penalties. In the interview, Ogawa explains that the company would rather accept the fines than "waste" money on investments in electric cars. The focus would always be on customer demand. If interest in electric mobility increases, production of electric cars at Toyota in the US could also increase accordingly.
At the same time, the automaker from Nippon announced the return of its Land Cruiser series to the US market. However, the new 2024 model is smaller and narrower than its predecessor. In addition, two new electric cars are to expand the range in the future. Toyota's Chief Branding Officer Simon Humphries recently emphasized the company's efforts to explore new mobility approaches. These include hydrogen cars and new filter concepts that can absorb CO2 from the air while driving.

Suddenly I'm proud to be a Toyota Owner.
I owned a few of Toyota in my life and i was always proud of them. Zero problem as long as you take care of them. You turn the key every morning, it run and no question ask!!

Indeed in the Luton airport one the firemen had to get out as the whole structure was in danger of collapse.
As there is little info on the Gatwick one we don't know the car park fire time line or the exact location and there is no CCTV coverage as there was in the Luton one.

Energy Department conditionally approves $2.26 billion loan for huge lithium mine in Nevada
March 15, 2024
RENO, Nev. (AP) — The U.S. Energy Department has conditionally agreed to loan more than $2 billion to a company building a lithium mine in Nevada to help meet rising demand for a critical element in the manufacture of batteries for electric vehicles, a key part of the Bozo administration’s renewable energy agenda.
The department agreed on Thursday to provide the $2.26 billion conditional loan to Canada-based Lithium Americas to help cover construction and related costs at an open pit mine deeper than the length of a football field near the Oregon line.
Department officials said the loan would help finance the construction of a lithium carbonate processing plant at the Thacker Pass mine about 200 miles (322 kilometers) north of Reno.
Lithium Americas said site preparation has been completed, including all site clearing, the commissioning of a water supply system, site access improvements and site infrastructure.

Hertz CEO Stephen Scherr resigns after EV push goes bust
March 17, 2024
Scherr’s resignation comes as the car rental company struggles with the higher repair costs and low demand for EV rentals.
In January, Hertz announced in financial filings that it had made the "strategic decision" to sell approximately 20,000 EVs from its U.S. fleet, or about one-third of its global EV fleet, and to instead invest in gas-powered cars.
The Bozo administration has previously lauded Hertz for its investment in EVs as the president made an aggressive push to broadly electrify the transportation sector as part of his climate agenda.
Last month, Hertz announced its biggest quarterly loss since 2020 after its decision to pivot away from EVs.
Scherr, 59, joined Hertz as the company was emerging from bankruptcy and began betting big on EVs.

GM lost tax credits on 20,000 EVs due to battery sourcing requirements
GM said it made about 20,000 EVs that didn't qualify for tax credits before it reworked its sourcing to regain eligibility
GM lost access to federal tax credits for nearly all of its electric vehicle models on Jan. 1 when new requirements from the U.S. Treasury Department took effect and made many EVs ineligible for tax credits. GM Chief Financial Officer Paul Jacobson said GM built about 20,000 vehicles over a 60-day period this year that didn't qualify for the credit.
Despite GM's EVs losing eligibility for the tax credits for the first part of this year, GM said that it has since regained eligibility for many of its EVs, including the Chevrolet Blazer EV and the Cadillac Lyriq, after it made changes to its sourcing policies to comply with the regulation.
The sourcing requirements were included as part of the Inflation Reduction Act and require that automakers can't source any battery components from foreign entities of concern while maintaining eligibility for the EV tax credit.

I have a few EV friends. All day long they are talking about how big and nice are the display screens. How fancy/advance are the software that control the cars. For me, it sound like they think driving a car is like playing video games or playing with the iPad. No wonder when anything happen, they don't know what to do. Good luck trying to open up the browser and google for solution. One thing for sure, your 20 inches screen won't help you. You are on your own.

If only she had been driving an ICE vehicle at 11:30 pm after a Chinese New Year’s party then she would have popped out of her car completely dry after driving it up an embankment then down the hill into a lake. The American eagle of freedom would have scooped her up and delivered her to safety. Everyone would have clapped except Elon Musk.

Good news, EV's are inflation proof.
Used EV Prices Plummet 32% As Tesla Price Cuts Impact Industry
According to a new iSeeCars study, EV prices have fallen a staggering 31.8% in the past year.

The company analyzed over 1.8 million used cars sold in February 2023 and 2024, which were between one and five years old. The results showed a “general softening of used car prices overall, but a dramatic drop in used electric vehicle prices.”
The biggest loser was the Chevrolet Bolt as prices are down 30.4% to an average of $17,981. Nissan’s Leaf wasn’t far behind as it fell 29.1% to lose $7,329 in value. Rounding out the podium was the Kia Niro EV, which fell 27.1% for a drop of $9,236.
Tesla was the hardest hit brand as their average used vehicle goes for $36,515. That’s down 28.9% from last year for a drop of $14,808. To put that into perspective, second place Alfa Romeo saw prices fall 13.3% for a decline of $4,412.

The Stelvio is still probably the best example of a pretty decent car hampered by the brands history, especially to non car people

Yes, we use faraday cases for our key fobs as well. Had my '23 X5 40i parked at a Montreal, Qc Hilton hotel for 4 nights last summer. Also used the Club on my steering wheel. Every night there was a car stolen including an older lexus parked right next to mine. My car was never touched, maybe lucky, maybe the club and the faraday case helped.

If someone really wants your property they will get it, it's mostly about deterrent. If it's easier to steal another car then guess what.
