I just got off the phone with 2 of the lawyers that are with one of the firms on the proposed settlement. They answered my questions and also wanted to know what I thought of the settlement.
If anyone has any questions about the proposed settlement or if you want to give your input on it contact them,. I have worked with them before and they are nice guys, and they have been working on the fuel pump issue since the beginning 4 years ago.
Here is a link to their site, contact them.

By the way the oficial recall date was October 26, 2010

Just had mine HPFP replaced. Went to dealer for another issue to discover the HPFP was not done before I purchased my 2007 model in 2011. Runs exactly the same!

Just back from the dealer and I heard a new one to me about the HPFP warranty. I "thought" it covered the HPFP for 10y/120k but the SA mentioned something like 2 years after the last replacement?

Someone have a copy of the terms handy?

I suppose the problem is serious AND they want some cost savings, and it looks better than a full vehicle recall.

Recently bought a 2007 335i with 68,XXX miles. Would it cost me anything to take the car into BMW and have them replace the HPFP or at least tell me if it was replaced?

The letter states 10 years or 120,000 miles whichever occurs first.

Sign the papers. The pump in the US carries a 10 year 120K Mile warranty.
They will fix it for free if it fails in the timeframe.

i've heard lots of problems with the recent x5 - dealers are also giving heavy discounts on new ones.

Guys - first post here. I am thinking of buying a 2009 E90 335i xDrive with about 55K miles on it. I looked at the Davis report of the car and seems like it has had multiple HDP issues. Here is a list:
1) Dec 2010 - 29K miles - N54 programming HDP, B 13 09 10 (@ dealer for 2 days)
2) Feb 2011 - 30K miles - High pressure pump HDP permanent failure (@ dealer for 9 days)
3) Mar 2011 - 33K miles - N54 HDP, B13 13 10 (@ dealer for 2 days)
4) May 2011 - 36K miles - Oil level / oil condition sensor (T\NS / QLT) permanent failure (@ dealer for 4 days)

Now, once the car got out of warranty apparently it went back for service (no repairs done) and the diagnosis was "ROCKER COVER CRACKED" Defect code: 11120001ER.

Any ideas what is a rocker cover and if it is related to the HDP issue? Is this car worth buying? I noticed when I went to check out the car, the guy couldnt crank the car for more than 10 seconds. When I asked him if there is an issue, he said something that I cant remember.

Any help will be duly appreciated. I am looking at another 335i (higher price) but no such record. Need to make a decision by tomorrow - thanks everyone!

Just based on that, I say forget it. First off, any 335 in good shape starts almost immediately. It shouldn't even NEED 10 seconds cranking, much less not be able to do it.

Isn't it the same part? So if it applies to America won't it apply to the uk?

Is there any people who havent had the fuel pump problem? I just purchased a 2008 335xi and it has never had the fuel pump replaced and I havent noticed any problems or symptoms of it going bad either.
